My All Risks cover (Santam) says "Unspecified items not exceeding 10% of the sum insured per item", which of course includes specified items and there is a fair amount of jewellery and watches so the total is over R150k.
All Risks covers items within the boundary of South Africa, hence the term "All Risks". However, it restricts me to personal items, for instance a satellite signal meter is insured under a business policy, as are portable tools that I sometimes carry
I was told that if I had worded the claim differently, ie accidental damage instead of saying it just stopped working, then the claim would have been paid. Santam's assessor is aware of Samsung's repair facility. So I now know what to do next time, although this will probably never happen
