Insurance - struggling to find cover i want ! At a decent price !

Hi Folks,

Looking for advice re insurance for my gear

I recently upgraded my 350D to the 7D (Woot!) and i am in the process of looking for a new insurance company after a rather nasty suprise from Dial Direct.

In short i have my gear covered if i am mugged in the street, stolen from my house and i have it all listed as specified movables, but i made a nasty discovery that if my gear is stolen out of the car ( i never leave it there but **** happens and well i travel quite a bit - i have had stuff stolen on a garage forecourt ) they will pay out to a max value of only 11 000 regardless of insured value, despite it being specified. ( I suggest you check this with your company ).

This is completely unacceptable - i have tried to find a company that will cover my gear under any situation but i am not having a lot of luck

Any suggestions, experiences etc?

Call these guys, Pleroma, I have all my stuff insured for any evetuality. Boot of car, mugged, accidental damage etc. If I'm changing lenses and drop mine they will replace it.

I checked and mine has to be out of the car at night and must also be in the boot.

This is what I pay

8. Sigma 24- 70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro lense insures for 9,500 I pay 69.66
10. Canon Camera 50D insured for 9,500 I pay 69.66

That's about the same sort of ratio I'm paying through outsurance for my nikon d90, 18-200, flash and some other bits.
