What? From my understanding the business is still profitable. You don't just go shutting down branches who are viable assets in future projections if their return is bad.

Sorry but you have no business sense in this regard. A lot of retailers and even corporate branches piggy back on their group or other branches for profit. It creates service delivery, marketing and potential customers nationwide which increase the demand for your product overall.

On the other hand if you continue running a business which creates massive debt on a severe scale and gets bailed out using government funding over and over it's definitely time to cut staff. I wonder whichever business comes to mind. Which monopolised SOE does @TheChamp support despite running a overall loss. hmmmm.... Would you say the same about that f#ckup?

Strand had a big sewerage spill recently, and even without 1, Strand sea water is dodgy to swim in because of the filthy river. CPT is still in SA, it just lags in the decay.

I use to live there long ago, I surfed there but that water was always dodgy, and now and then there is an ecoli outbreak. It is much better there but you still can`t let your guard down, crime is rife there too. The sewerage spill was in the news.

One of the problems for mr price is that many of their shops are located in malls without backup power. Most shoppers don't want to shop in dark malls where most shops are closed so even if mr price has backup power they're going to take a hit still.

Exactly why I am asking what cheap backup solutions are they having, a decent backup should be able to handle it, they must be running on lead acid batteries or they did not optimise their appliances and lighting to be energy efficient.
