Interest rate hikes are coming: economists

If we hit 20+ % repo rate again its going to be tough for a lot of people.

I seriously doubt we will hit that because the US would collapse if they had 10% interest rate..

Remember the interest rate is not only tied to SA but also relative to advanced economies and discounts risk. Contrary to popular opinion on forum, risk is not as high as peers hence the unlikely nature.

Anyway.. SA needs to figure out it’s energy issues asap while many countries pause and panic vs coal and other carbon sources too.. yah this includes surprise countries like Australia.. see the COP26 leaks about lobbying. Sooner we get energy growing the sooner gdp grows (assuming telecoms/data stop costing an arm and a leg)
