I have been disconnected intermitently on HSDPA since yesterday afternoon.I phoned Vodacom this morning at 09H00 and they informed me that there were problems on the Network country wide. They told me that they would phone/sms when the problem was resolved.

I got a voicemail at 10:15 asking if my problem was persisting:confused:

At about 17h00 I phoned Vodacom's technical support. The technician stepped me through re installing the HSDPA card.

However I am still experiencing intermittent disconecting.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problems

This has been the 'talk' on the streets for a month or so now. People are unhappy with the promises made and the disappointment in using HSDPA. Also mentioned is the lacklustre support in response.

I'm advising everyone to wait until they get their act together.

Thanks for the replies:D I have a Merlin U740 Model NRMU740.

Vodacom also gave me an antenna which I have erected on my roof pointing at a base staion (Greef's Farm). The troughput was fine till Tuesday afternoon as I mentioned before.

I have pressed the "#" symbol whilst waiting on a 155 call.Still wating for the callback:mad:

Maybe someone from VodaCom 3G/HSDPA can comment:confused:

Yeap I get the same, definitly not a signal problem I have 3 to 4 bars about 2-10mins good connection then nothing line goes totally dormant. Then click disconnect 619 error. Then it takes me ages to reconnect again with having to reboot, replug the card etc etc. Anyone have the HSDPA support no. at vodacom because the 155 no. drives me crazy goes round and round in circles.

Im at work at the moment so no idea. But last night I had one connect that lasted longer than the rest and then Boom. I hope they sort it out by tomorrow as I have planned a long Guild Wars gaming session and have been granted leave from the Girlfriend. So please Vodacom sort it out for me by tomorrow please.

Exactly the problem I have, it is so frustrating. Try phone vodacom support and see how bad that is.

Same too in Northcliff

Similar problems in Northcliff yesterday. If I hear that 082 155 man's voice one more time I'm gonna hit him with a soap in a sock. When I eventually get through, I spent >40 min touble shooting before Vodacom-lady says "oh yes, we've been having network problems."

I took yesterday off work so I could work on another project, but instead spent the day stomping round the house. Also took today off, but had to come into office to get anything done. grrrr

Ja boet its not cool. Lovely when you pay for a service and it doesnt work and worse when you cant even get through to the support guys. imagine if you didnt have a vodacom no how much your phone bill would cost from a lan line speaking to the helpdesk.

Any feedback on disconnects in the area?

The guys did find a problem on one of the systems serving this area and it was resolved with a temporary fix. Permanent fix is due to go in the next day or so.

On the 14th (when Bugzee first reported the problem), we did find a national problem and initially thought it was the cause, when this was resolved and it did not fix the problem in this specific area, further investigation showed a localised issue and this was then addressed.
