You're missing the point, NYT failed that argument for that specific piece, and it was one of many, they used it because Fox got away with it.

The biggest issue is this bit:

So the issue is that they labeled it as news instead of opinion for some of the claims.

Fox news => Tucker Carlson does not state opinion anywhere, based on the reputation it is to be inferred based by the judge's argument.
So basically the argument is that NYT is trustworthy as news, therefore them doing something like that is called out/valid for a defamation case and means that any news stories similar to it will also be called out and will mean that everything besides those can be considered factual.

It also completely misses the point of that the argument was that Fox news is factual, your red herring doesn't matter, fox news is not a valid source on anything.
Ag please man, the NYT has garnered quite the reputation for slandering people baselessly over the last few years. The only difference is that Project Veritas is actually willing to take them to court unlike most people.

If the NYT made an honest mistake, it would have acknowledged it and retracted the claim, instead they went to court to argue that their "news" shouldn't be taken as such.

But by all means, continue with the mental gymnastics. It's quite entertaining. :D

You're the one who mentioned NYT, I never mentioned them, I said Fox news wasn't credible and you're using false equivalence, stop with the red herring.

It's a false equivalence to point out that you're treating NYT differently to Fox News for the same behaviour, trying to argue that NYT is still credible but Fox News isn't?

'Tsek you hypocrite.

Seems like that rvZA has no shame posting BS lies here. Wonder why the mods don't clean up his trash posts.
Are we going to enforce some good debating rules now? I know quite a few people that would fall foul of those. ;)

Ah yes, when I never said I support NTT I am now a hypocrite, you made that argument.

You sound like someone who'd always say it's because race when it was something else entirely, and will always play the race card.

That's how you've just argued, doesn't detract from Fox not being credible.

I think you better explain what the above quote is meant to imply if it doesn't imply that you still think NYT is trustworthy.

Not sure how I implied that, just that NYT is more trustworthy than Fox news, doesn't mean NYT is utterly trustworthy.
My point was that fox news isn't trustworthy, yet you play your red herring/false dilemma/false comparison/other fallacy games.

Last reply on the matter for me, you're obviously an alt account for someone for trolling based on post count and join date.

The argument you used to claim that Fox News isn't trustworthy applies just as much to the NYT. So, hypocrisy is you.

You brought in NYT as a source, if NYT claims something, I don't believe it without checking either, I'd check where they are basing their vaccine source from.
You're the one that assumed I regard NYT alone as trustworthy, and I trust Fox less than I trust wikipedia.

You explicitly said that you regarded NYT as more trustworthy and tried to defend their courtroom behaviour after using the same behaviour as an explanation for why people shouldn't trust fox. Stop talking nonsense.

You're a troll, I said they're more trustworthy, I did not say that they are completely trustworthy. I said that a majority of their stuff can be considered trustworthy, I did not say it as a source alone without checking other things is trustworthy. You keep trying to twist my words.

You still did not state why Fox news is trustworthy/reliable, which is the original argument, the rest is you derailing it, last comment on the topic, I know I said before, but if you keep harping on it I will just hit report for derail.

What the world is realizing more and more is that this is all less of an eradication and more of a future where Covid is endemic, seasonal etc. it must be made to go the the way of the flu or common cold.

No, I'm not twisting your words, I'm taking your logic and applying it to another situation which has all the same characteristics that you were bemoaning and showing that you don't apply your standards consistently.

Report it all you like, you were the one who started attacking the source of the claims rather than addressing the merits of the claims themselves.

And I have no interest in defending Fox News. The entire MSM industry is unreliable as far as I'm concerned, but that doesn't prevent me from taking exception to blatant hypocrisy when I see it in action.

Question is more along the lines of, if everyone gets vaccine, let everyone interact with each other since a vast majority will not get severe/hospital symptoms, let it go through the population, and life keeps going.
If you don't vaccinate, will be a lot more ending up in hospital.

So far all the threads that keep getting posted by rvZA and his ilk are all how terrible the mRNA vaccines are etc., how their efficacy is terrible, how Israel is an example of how bad it is, meanwhile ignoring the fact that few people who are vaccinated are actually getting ill, and a handful are actually dying after vaccination, which is the main purpose of the vaccine (and yes, it does reduce transmission as well).

We don't know how many people are getting ill. There are no real stats for that but that doesn't stop the claim from being made nonetheless like with the flu vaccine. The stats for reducing transmission are neither here nor there so it's assumed they don't.

Not sure where you're getting that info from, e.g. Here testing is pretty mandatory and they do a few hundred thousand tests a day.
You can pretty well tell if rate has reduced by doing contact tracing.

You don't seem to understand what you're talking about, rather stop posting in these threads.

Now listen clearly. I have absolutely no interest in any far left, socialist fake news or fake statistics. Fox New is by far the biggest news channel in the US with the most viewers. CNN hanging low at 3rd spot after losing 65% of their viewers so far this year.

There is a reason for this and we all know what it is. Anything else is mere socialist propaganda, like that posted above.
You're an actual lunatic, you know that? That or the biggest troll on the internet. one of the two.
