But lets assume that the actions of the govt here by the actions they announced on Sunday (proactively by some other countries responses) may have started everybody thinking about personal hygiene, social distancing, etc. Let's hope it has been helping. I would love if we stay behind the normal projected curves..

Given the VAST majority of SA population don't have access to clean water, toilets and even any form of shower. We should be WAY above the curve in reality. The slight decline or reduced projection can only be attributed to fewer tests or numbers aren't all available at the time they went to announce it. We might have a higher number later on today. But I suspect it's due to a decline in tests.

The European Union is urging Netflix and other streaming platforms to stop showing video in high definition to prevent the internet from breaking under the strain of unprecedented usage due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With so many countries on forced lockdowns to fight the spread of the virus, hundreds of millions working from home and even more children out of school, EU officials are concerned about the huge strain on internet bandwidth.

Amazon announces first coronavirus case in warehouse after drivers claimed they are given just ONE WIPE to sanitize their shared delivery vans

A worker at Amazon's warehouse in New York City has tested positive for coronavirus, sparking fears about the safety of the company's packages and the thousands of other employees who pack them.

Amazon confirmed the case of COVID-19 at their Queens fulfillment center Wednesday, saying that they are 'supporting the individual who is now in quarantine'.

The online giant also says that they informed all workers at the facility about the news - however several dispute the claim.

One dispatcher told The Atlantic that he first learned of the coronavirus case via a text message sent to a workers' group, rather than from Amazon itself. They further alleged that night-shift employees still believed they were required to head in to the facility for their shift.

However, Amazon clarified that they have 'temporarily closed the delivery station for additional sanitation and have sent associates home with full pay.'

It is unclear when the warehouse will open again.

The Surgeon General appealed to Kylie Jenner on Thursday morning to tell her millennial followers to stay at home and stop going to beaches as the country frantically tries to fight coronavirus.

In an appearance on Good Morning America, Surgeon General Jerome Adams said the country needed social media influencers like Jenner to use their platforms to get through to young people.

It came after disturbing photographs and videos emerged of kids flocking to the beaches of Florida for Spring Break, gathering in groups and twerking despite the entire world being on the brink of shut-down.

Startling new data released on Wednesday night shows 29 percent of the cases of coronavirus in the US are among people between the ages of 20 and 44. Of that number, 20 percent are in the hospital and 12 percent are in intensive care units.

One of my guys didn't go to work today. Has symptoms. So does his pregnant wife. Really sucks for them.

Problem, though, is that we already know symptoms only present a few days after infection, and he's been going to the office every day. So now I'm just waiting for the all the other phone calls to start coming in. Luckily, I haven't been in the office since last Thursday.

Swap joints for edibles during Covid-19 pandemic, says cannabis advocate
To avoid spreading the coronavirus, marijuana smokers should avoid sharing joints and should favour edible products, a US cannabis industry figure has advised.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Erik Altieri of NORML, a major pro-cannabis lobby, said: “As long as cultures have consumed cannabis, the practice of sharing a joint among friends has been a common social practice, but given what we know about Covid-19 and its transmission, it would be mindful during this time to halt this behaviour."

He also called on users to not share the various tools they might use to smoke marijuana — including bongs, water pipes or vaping pens — and to clean them with disinfectant gel.

“Further, because Covid-19 is a respiratory illness, some may wish to limit or avoid their exposure to combustive smoke — as this can put undue stress and strain on the lungs,” the statement said.

“The use of edibles or tinctures can eliminate smoke exposure entirely,” Altieri added.

Yea, there is going to be a spike, and a pretty big one at it I suspect. That is what caused the previous delay and the split it into two announcements to make it seem less of a problem. One of two things are going to happen. The positive results per test will increase pretty highly (with less tests done) or a big spike with an increase in tests done. The issue is, we will be able to see if the infection rate increases or not by the amount of tests done vs positive results.

Just my assumption.

New numbers seems pretty acceptable? Does not seem we heading for big spikes.....or not yet anyway?

Yes it does...

What a pile. So we can only have government sanctioned news? Talk about Apartheid-style censorship.

If we had this during the HIV epidemic, we would have all been eating beetroot and garlic (and many of us would not be here today).

Porn Industry Calls for Shutdown Due to Coronavirus

Despite the global panic surrounding COVID-19, as recently as last week the adult industry remained relatively untouched, continuing business as usual and resuming shoots — even if individual performers were wary about being on set. But as the situation surrounding COVID-19 rapidly evolves and government officials encourage social distancing, all industries are being affected, and the porn world is no exception.

On Monday morning, industry publication Xbiz reported that the Free Speech Coalition (FSC), the adult-industry lobbying group, is calling for an industry-wide “voluntary shutdown” through the end of March. The statement comes on the heels of California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s call for non-essential businesses to shut down effective immediately, and applies to all performers who are shooting with partners who are “not a part of their household.”

If those figures are correct, it points to a decline. So we could be well on our way to reach the "curve" as some put it. I'm however extremely skeptical. To me it's too early in the outbreak for the infection rate to be declining. But I'm happy to be wrong. It seems like we'll reach the curve way before projections then.

I however am of the opinion that there are more tests that need to come in and it will have a higher positive to negative ratio way above the 3.78% positive from the previous results.
