Countries still to worry about:

USA, France, Turkey and the UK.

Big countries flattening their curves: Italy, Spain.
Add Philippines to watch list there, could start looking scary soon... they returning 60% positive on tests(for ref, NY is 40%)... granted, they're not doing mass testing and only done several thousand, so hopefully its just the case of only testing serious cases as they come in, but if continues with population of 100mil, could be trouble... same for Ecuador

There is quite a big delay in infections, due to geographical separation. Counties with close borders and travel links to infected countries (but lacking infrastructure) will be hit next.

Not sure how Vietnam is doing, with their proximity to China. Seem to have low incidence (so far), and currently in lockdown:
Having experience responding to SARS, avian flu, and other epidemics, Vietnam acted quickly on the early signs of COVID-19 in January. The authorities carried out selective testing and quarantined potential cases. Other measures followed one by one, including moves to close schools, ration surgical masks, cancel some flights, and then close entry to most foreigners.

New total for what it is worth: 1585, 9 deaths.

Total tests: 53 937

Source: Netwerk24, they give a breakdown of the positive results per province.

For the arithmetically challenged, its always worth quoting the number of new positive tests:
The total number of coronavirus cases in South Africa has risen to 1585 on Saturday, 80 more than Friday.

P.S. Wrong thread. Please post in the South Africa one...

New York state has recorded 630 more coronavirus deaths, another daily record that takes its toll to 3,565.

Most deaths have been in New York City. The state now has almost as many cases - over 113,000 - as the whole of Italy.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said infections could peak in between four and 14 days.
The state has counted 113,074 confirmed cases, 63,036 of them in New York City.

Mr Cuomo said the number of cases and deaths were now rising at a slower rate in New York City, but there was a worrying increase in cases in nearby Long Island.

Another virus hotspot, the southern state of Louisiana, said deaths had jumped by 20% to 370 on Friday, with 10,000 confirmed cases. Governor John Bel Edwards urged residents to respect his stay-at-home order, asking them to "do a better job". The outbreak in New Orleans has a per capita death rate twice as high as New York's. Doctors and public health officials have suggested that high rates of obesity and related conditions could be playing a role, Reuters reports.

The UK saw a record number of deaths in a day - 708 - but the number of confirmed new coronavirus cases fell. The total number of people who have died in hospitals is now 4,313.

I cant help but think that they is some similarities between the polio of early 1930's and the corona virus

1. Both spread fear amongst people
2. Both damage the lungs, today we use ventilators, back them it was iron lungs
3. Both infected Presidents and
4. Both diseases spread rapidly
5. Both have a cure/vaccine?

433 for Western Cape but WC releases their own numbers: they have recorded 446.

Edit: National government stats show 63 unallocated. I guess some of these are in the WC and NICD will eventually "clean the data"

Polio doesn't affect the lungs, it effects the central nervous system. An iron lung was a type of ventilator that helped you breathe when your muscles were too weak.
FDR had polio but he didn't require an iron lung he was just partially paralyzed.
There is no comparison between the two viruses.

Any truth to this "potential" vaccine site.. not sure if it's fake or not..

I see 2 sites saying the same thing... but two people telling the same lie doesn't make it true...

What i would like to know. Is where do you report people not abiding by the Rules and LAW. Laid out be Cyril Ramaphosa , Bheki Cele and Fikile Mbalula . My one buddy says his neighbor is having a party and has friends over etc.etc. He called the police and they apparently just drove past. The police probably figured it's a house with 5-6 people living there and has 3 cars in the yard.

How do you report someone that is "Not staying indoors, other than going to chemist or buy food" or if you "see people coming to visit your neighbors and partying"

No need to report them, the virus will help them understand.
