They've started testing again... ie, not just testing serious cases that need hospitalisation
Its good, we need more doing large scale testing, we need the data

Just on testing, I see US broke 200k tests yesterday, must be the new 15min machines rolling out... so expect to see 300k a day soon

That would be 3 years for their population. And ours would be done in 6 months.

We'll see how it increases over next couple of days, I have no doubt they'll be pushing 1million tests daily in the coming weeks

Ecuador is quite scary at the moment. Their stats aren't that high, but the morgues or funeral services aren't keeping up with the dead not recorded in the Carona stats.
Ecuador and Phillipines are 2 of my '???' atm

Now imagine if Covid19 was attackimg our brain instead of our lungs. People walking around like zombies before they died. Sounds like Sci-Fi? Not really.

Australia takes biosecurity laws very seriously:
Australia has so far reported 5,548 coronavirus cases and 30 deaths.

Those sickened on cruise ships account for nearly a tenth of all cases in Australia.

According to NSW Health, about a dozen passengers had reported feeling unwell and had swabs taken for Covid-19. One was taken by ambulance to hospital.

But other passengers on board weren't told of this. Instead, they streamed off the boat at Circular Quay - some of them coughing and spluttering, according to witnesses. The busy area leads directly into the city centre, with transit links to the airport and outer suburbs.

A day after the ship docked, officials revealed cases of Covid-19 had been confirmed in three people who had been on board, prompting a scramble to track down everyone who had been on the ship.

in stark contrast to the Chinese puppet "Dr" Tedros who is not allowed to say anything critical of China's complicity in this disaster...

Why "Dr" in quotes? He's got a PhD.

So the Abu Dhabi owners of the ExCel will charge the NHS £3mil a month to rent it during the crisis. In contrast, the American owners of the Nightingale to be set up in Birmingham have said it can be used for free.

I've got mixed feelings about this.

People and companies should give if they can. But shouldn't be shamed if they can't.

I'm sure the 3m GBP is a discount so it's not like they can or should give it for free. Also there are maintenance and repairs, insurance costs, cleaning etc. So I don't think thats taking advantage of the situation.

Also, who are they charging if its the NHS. Why bail out govts that were foolish in the first place. BJ bragged about shaking hands long after social distancing was common wisdom. We ****ed up, so now we shame others for not cleaning up our messes?

A German Exception? Why the Country’s Coronavirus Death Rate Is Low

The pandemic has hit Germany hard, with more than 92,000 people infected. But the percentage of fatal cases has been remarkably low compared to those in many neighboring countries.

They call them corona taxis: Medics outfitted in protective gear, driving around the empty streets of Heidelberg to check on patients who are at home, five or six days into being sick with the coronavirus.

They take a blood test, looking for signs that a patient is about to go into a steep decline. They might suggest hospitalization, even to a patient who has only mild symptoms; the chances of surviving that decline are vastly improved by being in a hospital when it begins.

“There is this tipping point at the end of the first week,” said Prof. Hans-Georg Kräusslich, the head of virology at University Hospital in Heidelberg, one of Germany’s leading research hospitals. “If you are a person whose lungs might fail, that’s when you will start deteriorating.”

Heidelberg’s corona taxis are only one initiative in one city. But they illustrate a level of engagement and a commitment of public resources in fighting the epidemic that help explain one of the most intriguing puzzles of the pandemic: Why is Germany’s death rate so low?

Adults are at home. keep the kids at home... Entertainment can be more video games and watch TV or series. Make popcorn or chips. Basically like a Sunday but 21 Sundays in a row. <not going outside , where you stand a chance of the little one getting it from another child. Where the parent has it>

It can end up. after a soccer game. They all take it home to mommy and daddy or grandma/Grandpa. Then no one has a answer... no one knows where they got it. or who had it originally.

I'm not saying i want people locked up and never be heard of again. But people must listen UP. Take responsibility. We are not kids anymore(i hope). It's only 21days to keep yourself / family at home and safe. During a plague outbreak which is outside your door. It does not take a rocket scientist.

I cannot perceive this stupidity.. Yet people are walking around like it's Holiday times..Seemingly not afraid.
My idiot neighbours allow their kids to have play dates with the other neighbour's kids. I blocked them all on WhatsApp. Cannot be associated with people of such low intelligence and even less consideration.

Was checking new numbers, hopefully good news coming
New case down, hospitalised down, deaths down...
