lets say the lockdowns globally extend, or not, anyway, when that is over, the virus will still be around, what then? when does this all end?

History

According to their about page, InformationLiberation was founded in 2005 as an “independent news site dedicated to pursuing the truth wherever it leads, without apology and without care for being politically correct.” Although the website does not indicate who the editor or owner is, Chris Menahan is listed as the publisher of news stories.

Analysis / Bias
In review, Information Liberation is a news and opinion website with an extreme right wing bias. Virtually every article reports positively for conservative causes and negatively for liberals. Information Liberation uses loaded words to convey either positive or negative emotions such as this: Hillary Clinton Scolds Trump Over Syria, Explains Why We Need Permanent War. While Information Liberation does publish credible news that is sourced properly, it also publishes news that is sourced to right wing biased, conspiracy and questionable sources. In fact, they provide a list of sources that they link to on their side bar. This list reads like a who’s who of conspiracy and questionable sources such as InfoWars, Gateway Pundit and the Center for Immigration Studies. They also perform misleading fact checks such as this one: FACT CHECK: Hillary Said 90% of Clinton Foundation Donations go to Charity. Actual Number? 5.7%. This fact check simply is not true. Either this is a very poorly done fact check or they were intentionally trying to mislead. The actual number that goes to charity is 89%. The deception in this fact check is in the wording. 5.7% of donation go to outside charity groups, this much is true. With this fact check Information Liberation is misleading people to believe that only 5.7% goes to actual charity when in fact it is closer to 90%. See the full and proper fact check here.
In general, all stories favor the right and denigrate the left with the use of poor sources.
A factual search reveals a Pants on Fire Claim.
Overall, we rate Information Liberation Questionable based on extreme right wing bias, promotion of propaganda/conspiracies and a lack of transparency. (3/29/2017) Updated (D. Van Zandt 1/20/2019)

All this talk about other models... Taiwan which was the 3rd country after Singapore to be exposed corona back in January has: 380 cases, 80 recovered and only 5 deaths...

This with a population of 23million... yet WHO refuses to listen or acknowledge that Taiwan exist nor did they accept Taiwan's finding that the virus is airborne (3 weeks before China annouced it)...

speaking on recovery rates, why do they seem so low? surely there should be more outcomes

Why should we trust D. Van Zandt? Where is his listing on his site? That saying determining the validity of chloroquine and azithromycin has to be do done in proper studies although we know much research this days is later recalled because of issues with reproducibilty and peer review is far, far from perfect.

I don't think it just disappears.. what happens is national, domestic/regional lockdown will likely remain in place while they ease restrictions within municipality and keep a close eye on things. Basically.. if you depend on tourism.. sorry.. not for the next 12-18 months i.e. when vaccine is able to be distributed and much like "Yellow Fever" is checked at border.. i reckon SARS-COV-2 will be checked for next 2-3 yrs. This will be brutal on tourism industry globally & airline.. maybe its a good thing as this will force gov to sell off SAA et al

Bonus would be that SA borders gonna become policed more as even with a vaccine.. it will take long to vaccinate everyone. I'm sure the Medical Aids will sponsor/subsidies it based on economic / age because infection going bad has cost implications for them.

Give it 14 days and try say this again.

Far too early to tell.. anyway.. countries with inadequate healthcare or large % health issues with population like SA, US etc will have to keep things locked down in some form to keep track of numbers or push out vaccines fast to go back to 'normal' else it just takes 1-2 bad apples and back to the beginning.

I think this could be, if done, only the 2nd? time in history they eradicate a disease other than natural attrition of hosts? I know smallpox was declared eradicated.

They would, considering that Taiwan shouldn't even exist according to China.

Smallpox was thanks to vaccines.
Polio and measles almost were eradicated through the use of vaccines as well.

Lockdown restrictions could be lifted in a week says New Zealand PM. Think the DM is making up the headline though reading the article.

Ardern hailed New Zealanders for mounting a 'wall of defence' which is 'breaking the chain of transmission' after the country moved quickly to impose a lockdown.

The PM said the country was already 'turning a corner' just six weeks after the epidemic reached New Zealand, which has only 992 confirmed cases and one death so far.

Lockdown measures could be softened in just over a week, Ardern said, opening the door for some people to return to work if their employers can ensure social distancing.

The figure of 29 confirmed or probable infections in the last 24 hours marks a fourth straight day of decline, in the latest sign of a flattening curve.

New Zealand only confirmed its first case on February 26, but had shut its borders by March 19 and started imposing a full-scale lockdown on March 26.

Ardern today praised New Zealanders for 'saving lives' by obeying government rules in the first half of a four-week lockdown.

'At the halfway mark I have no hesitation in saying, that what New Zealanders have done over the last two weeks is huge,' she said.

'In the face of the greatest threat to human health we have seen in over a century, Kiwis have quietly and collectively implemented a nationwide wall of defence.

'You are breaking the chain of transmission. And you did it for each other.'

Warning against complacency, she added: 'As we head in to Easter I say thank you to you and your bubble.

'We have what we need to win this marathon. You have stayed calm, you've been strong, you've saved lives, and now we need to keep going.'

Ardern says her government will decide on April 20 whether to extend or relax the lockdown, which is currently due to expire at midnight on April 22.

New Zealand is currently at its highest Alert Level 4, but Ardern said ministers could decide to move it down to Level 3.

Under Level 3, people are not generally ordered to stay at home, although public buildings would still be shut and mass gatherings cancelled.

Travel would be limited 'in areas with clusters or community transmission' rather than generally, and 'some non-essential businesses should close' rather than all of them
