Covid-19 modeling by University of Washington. No SA on the list but you can check out UK or US, or any European country with projections.

"Only 14% of people in England and Wales are from ethnic minority backgrounds, according to the 2011 census.

However, the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre found that 34% of more than 3,000 critically ill coronavirus patients identified as black, Asian or minority ethnic."

"Labour said the disproportionate number of doctors from ethnic minority backgrounds who had died from coronavirus was "deeply disturbing".

I read the article, its slightly political in tone, but it does represent the facts.

Those numbers don't bode well for SA, with our large segment of poor and sick people...

I haven't read the article but what a lot of people seem to be missing is the prevalence of hypertension and diabetes among the African and Asian communities.

With 0.8 doctors per 1000 people, we can not afford to lose even one . (in reference to the second link) All the specialist I go to , are over 60 years old.

Yes the factors are mentioned, density worse health care and so on, BUT the higher dead rate, applies to the health professionals as well, and UK have lots of doctors from Asia and Africa.

I guess Swedens "act like adults" policy would have been more effective before they opened their borders.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but here's Bill Gates practically predicting the coronavirus outbreak, back in 2015:

No wonder that he's such a successful entrepeneur.

He was one of many warning about the next coronavirus. It was well discussed and has been anticipated for some time.

Do we have drones yet in Gauteng, flying around doing corona testing/scanning from above?
