This has been known pretty much from the beginning already. The fact that it spreads so fast was evidence enough that it was not being transmitted by people coughing and sneezing on each other.

It's astounding how backwards the WHO is...
Remains to be seen whether these scientists have research that shows it is airborne. This definitely has not been known from the beginning. It was only known that it was found in droplets, of various sizes, not simply floating about in the air. So far every study I've seen that claims to be evidence that there is airborne transmission has turned out to be a case of coming to a conclusion based on conjecture rather than any hard evidence. We'll have to wait to see what is in this letter to determine whether the claim is credible.

That's what airborne means. Droplets that float around in the air. That's what happens when you breathe, it's like a vapour cloud contaminated with minuscule droplets small enough to hover around for a long time.

Point is they said it was transmitted only by coughing and sneezing which is obviously not true. We knew early on that the virus can survive outside the human body for a long time, so it's very easy to put two and two together and simultaneously explain the large increase in cases.

Their job is to prevent the spread of the infection, so why are they waiting for studies to show exactly how long and in what concentrations it stays in the air before changing their false premises?

Same thing with the masks, they only changed their story like a couple weeks ago. Seriously backwards. They should have assumed it was airborne based on the infection rate and they should have told everyone to wear masks when leaving the house from the beginning. THEN do studies to determine the exact dynamics of virus transmission.

PS Studies came out months ago that show particles from breathing/talking remain in the air for up to 20 minutes, this is not news.

Reading stories like this make me enraged with anger.

This "mother" should be prosecuted for murder.

She took her immunocompromised daughter to a COVID-19 infection party at a Church.

Her daughter then died some time later from the virus.

She tried to treat her with azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine.

Her facebook page is full of coronavirus misinformation, anti-vax and Qanon conspiracies.

A comment on the story kind of sums it up:

Our culture is notable for nurturing two things - defiantly extended adolescence and an insistent self-centeredness posing as independence. To these we have added raging materialism and a demand for instant gratification. These defeat and break the natural bonds of responsible humanity that make the social contract.

It's July and people still actually believe Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin are effective against COVID-19.

A bus driver in the south-west of France has been left brain dead after reportedly being attacked by passengers who refused to wear face masks.

The driver in Bayonne had refused to allow several people - who had no tickets and were not wearing masks - to board the bus on Sunday night, a police source told AFP news agency.

Even in areas hard-hit by Covid-19, few people test positive for antibodies, meaning that hopes for herd immunity against the disease may be futile, according to a new Spanish study.

Conducted by researchers at the Carlos III Health Institute in Madrid and published in The Lancet Monday, the study included 61,075 people in 35,883 randomly selected households throughout the country. After completing a questionnaire between April 27 and May 11 on Covid-19 symptoms, participants received a point-of-care antibody test, followed by a blood draw for a laboratory immunoassay test if they agreed to it. Overall, the study found that only 5% of participants showed a positive result on the point-of-care test, while 4.6% showed a positive result on the lab test. Results varied considerably by region, with residents of Madrid showing a prevalence greater than 10%, while residents of coastal areas showed a prevalence of less than 3%.
