It won't happen because unlike you, governments are not ignorant to the danger and high mortality rate.

No Government in the World will be able to stop it. Just like they couldn't stop swine flu and the likes. It will come and go every year going forward. You are living in a dream world :D

Yup but of course the world is panicking over something the media has made scary. People keep saying we must stop saying it's like the flu bro. People should just be as weary of this as the flu. Flu still kills 600 000 a year world wide, that's 50 000 a month. The US alone has had 20 000 this season alone, 370 000 hospitalisations and 36 million infected, that's in 6 months.
This Corona virus will need to really ramp itself up, I mean first case was 1st December and we're only at 180k infected with under 8k dead?
Flu has been around for 70 years.

Coronavirus for 3 months. It has a proven mortality rate 10 times higher than flu.

Compare apples with apples.

Yes because the flu has been around for 70 years, infected all corners of the globe, mutated to several different strains.

If the coronavirus is left to spread to that level, it will kill 10 times more people per year.

It has a higher mortality rate. That is why governments and the WHO are trying to flatten the curve to prevent widespread infections at the rate that you see with influenza.
No it doesn't have a higher mortality rate. We don't know the mortality rate, we know it's CFR. Also the coronavirus has been around just as long, SARs and MERS are also Coronavirus.
15% of the common colds are Coronavirus, this is just a new strain.

So let's do this again in a year or two?

Fark I hope you're around then... I really do. I so want to point and laugh.

I can nit-pick numbers to suit my narrative too...

Globally, 7 500 deaths (Covid-19). Flu 650 000 annually, so around 1 000 deaths just today.

But wait there is more...

In SA, around 22 000 TB deaths a year. This excluded those who had HIV. So that's about 60 deaths a day.

I can play this stupid little game of yours all day...

Italy has the highest average age in Europe, and who would have thought that the elderly are of higher risk of dying from Covid-19 /facepalm
*Let me guess, you also stacked up on toilet paper? :D

Yeah, its time to update my ignore list now

He won't it doesn't fit his narrative..

That's the problem with these Doom Prophets. Scare scare scare, when it's utterly retarded to begin with. We have countries on lock-down, economies suffering HUGE losses which will also affect the elderly, and probably more than the virus would. If they don't die of the Virus, they will die of hunger as they can't afford to buy shyte cause of the markets. GJ!

I don't think Governments, and large businesses would just give into panic for not good reason. Or are you suggesting the media and social panic is strong enough for governments and the rich to cave and just loose billions?

Even strong enough to make China bend to it's will?

Briefed a portion of my staff on Monday morning, this too was the response from them, It's a European virus, does not infect them....
That's the problem here too. Until they start dying.

You will never find out from anyone that went to a funeral what the deceased died of.... shoulder's shrug... they dunno. Yet they ate the food and celebrated. Africa style.

Singapore has stopped it. Hong Kong has stopped it. China is ending it, only 30 cases yesterday. They stopped it by doing what they did.

Swine flu pandemic was declared over in 2010. Odd minor outbreak since, but nothing major. This was stopped by the actions taken back then.

You are the one dreaming.

Firstly flu has been around a long time, Coronavirus has been around a long time as well. So far in 3 months it's killed 7000 people. That in the long run isn't that many.

It will be over by then because of what governments are doing. Singapore has already stopped it.

Maybe some countries, but China? I don't think so.

China's knee jerk reaction to it is what got all the attention in the first place, so there is that to consider if you are into conspiracy theories.
