The point a lot people have missed is there's about 5 - 10% chance of the infection becoming severe and requiring hospitalization in anyone.
Double that estimate. One in five infected patients required hospitalisation and most of those also required ventilation and intensive care treatments.

Are you saying out of every 5 patients, 20% require hospitalisation?

Nea, you need to revise that number.

Buying a few extra tins of beans, veg, rice when you go to the shops is not panicing it's preparing.

This is coming to a town near you, make no mistake and when it does and you can't buy a loaf of bread (because all those gluten allergies seem to have disappeared) you'll probably regret not having extra on hand.

Nope, 1 in 5 confirmed infections, which is why who are asking to test as much as possible.

OMG!!
Total deaths in the US (population 327 million) have surpassed a hundred!!
Actually, now that I think of it, I think I could fit a hundred people in my kitchen.
It would be a tight squeeze, but it could be done.

Are the 100 people in your kitchen dead or alive?

Dead.
If I pile ten on top of each other (10 x 10) I could fit them in my bathroom.
Screw the kitchen.

See back when there were only 44k cases it was only 80.9% that were mild, now that we're close to 200 000 it's 94%

As more people are shown to have had it, the more the mild condition will go down or up.

Correct.

Already only 6% down from someone quoting 20% requiring hospitalisation. It will only grow smaller and smaller.

Ask any butcher that deals with carcasses what a nightmare that would be. Plus, the average 60kg per person weight would mean demolition of one wall for the forklift.

Yup which means a third of a person will be serious out of 5.

It's going to get lowers as it spreads and we'll see similar numbers to that of influenza. When you have targeted testing obviously the figures would be skewed. Once it's global you will be able to have a perfect comparison. Targeted Testing makes this look way worse than it is.

I'm trying to convince my father who is a fit 80 year old that he needs to self-isolate.
I think I need 15 liters if super-glue and some extra-strength duct tape.
Thank goodness his girlfriends (yeah, he's a two timing octogenarian bastard) are more paranoid.
Luckily for him he lives in a gated community for seniors (50 and above) and his girlfriends live elsewhere.
