what you call obsessive and crazy, I call focused and determined
we are discussing possibly the biggest global topic and trying to understand it

Don't obsess over things completely outside of your direct sphere of control, focus on your immediate surrounding reality, observe these developments only once every two weeks (Good advice from a doctor.) or else you become like pic related. The last thing you want to become is "crazy internet guy".

If you only check up on Covid-19 every 2 weeks you will miss so much information, by the time the Apocalypse happens you will still be wondering how Italy got to 100k cases

Okay so he was confirmed on 5 March 2020 - who knows how long before he was sick... so at least 14 day recovery time - just wonder when he will test negative though and no longer be infectious

(Posted in wrong group accidentally.. but it's relevant for here)

Some good news!
On average the virus takes 5 days for a person to present symptoms after being infected.

Went to doctor today. Apparently you can now only get tested if you have a temp of 39 degrees and cough continuously.

Not entirely true my sister works with a lady who has been diagnosed with the virus and the doctor wrote a motivating letter without her even having symptoms.

I think we've covered this, read my follow on post to him. Data is there you are welcome to it.
Where exactly is this data? The closest you got to any data was quoting a 50% number from the US, yet again without any source. You also completely ignored my questions around supporting and treating patients in the now newly unoccupied beds.

You made an extraordinary claim about elective surgery in South Africa without any evidence or data. When I asked for your source you used circular reasoning to turn my question around and make me disprove your extraordinary claim. The onus of proof is on the person making an extraordinary claim not the person challenging it. But then again I'm wasting my time trying to reason with you

Like I said, it's there you are welcome to it.

Again, I'm not phased in the least of what you think, want or demand. The UK has been doing this exactly. Cancelled non-emergency surgery to open up more space in the system. Just because you want to throw around panic I must now beg at your mercy? :D GTFO! Again, I don't give half a tit...

Very true! Fact is not everyone has knowledge on Virology. Not only that there is a lot of misinformation out there creating panic.

I'd rather have covid-19 than ever have to hear that guys voice in my life again.

That, I think, is part of the reason why the government hasn't enforced a lockdown (yet). After being told to avoid pubs, clubs and mass gatherings, what did thousands of people do? Went on a piss-up, because the British generally have this attitude of "who the **** are you to tell me what to do?".
And SA will take that attitude to a new level. We can't seem to prevent raging mobs (sorry "protesters") from doing whatever they want and rampaging - so any attempt to lockdown an informal settlement is not going to go well.

They could start with closing down the shebeens.
