Because if my wife does get it she is dead.
But my point is, it's not like HIV, where you can test negative now and follow simple steps to ensure you remain that way in perpetuity.
Getting tested when asymptomatic for CoVID-19 simple ties up resources and in no way makes you any safer than anyone else form becoming infected. Hell, going to a testing facility probably increases your risk of exposure.

That's bad man, all the best. What measures have you taken as a family to prevent her being infected? Can you stay at home etc?
She is at home at the moment, but has 'flu'. She hasn't had flu symptoms in more than 3 years as her body can't fight it. So for now it is just wait and hope it doesn't get worse. If it is flu for some reason, it might mean that her immune system is improving as it is trying to fight the virus, which would be a good thing. The timing is just very 'convenient'.

Isn't that why we're all in isolation now as a prophylactic measure?

I have to go to work, I have no choice. I had to stop at the shops yesterday to buy bread as well.

Only thing that changes for me now is I can't actually go anywhere because social events are being cancelled and bars/restaurants/pubs will now be forced to close at 18:00.

Did someone announce a provincial/national lock down?
Like I said, I forgot, South Africans. Some of us took the President's speech literally and try to follow the spirit of what was said. It appears the vast majority are one of two types, the head in the sand variety or the **** you jack I'll do whatever the **** I want variety. South Africans.

Ramaphosa merely said cleanliness must be improved in the workplace, not to stop going to work. So maybe it's a good thing some Saffers who "feel OK" are going to work (where work doesn't allow to work from home or bosses haven't said to work from home) and driving the economy.

Ok. So you're a head in the sand type. Got it. Carry on.

I assume that the companies who are able, will start a work from home project.

Others may be motivated by getting things going so that their staff will be able to work from home.

Those who can't (like eskom etc) will have to make a plan to safeguard their technicians etc.

Just fearful of the banks, esp in airports.

We issued a directive to our build and installation teams yesterday covering new protocols on site.
