More than 321,000 people are now believed to have died from Covid-19 in the country.

The revised toll places Mexico with the second highest number of Covid-related deaths in the world, after the US.
That places Mexico above Brazil, which has registered 310,000 deaths, and below the US which has recorded 549,000 fatalities - despite having a population of 126 million which is far smaller than either country.

I got AZ!

Also, good news for UK....suck it EU!

UK to make up to 60m doses of Novavax Covid vaccine under GSK deal

The UK will produce up to 60m doses of a Covid-19 vaccine under a new deal struck to boost domestic supply, amid fears over potential export bans hitting shipments of vaccines from Europe and India.

A government source said the UK had always intended to build a domestic manufacturing capability but suggested that had been underlined by the bitter dispute with the EU, with Brussels threatening an export ban on supplies of the AstraZeneca vaccine based in a Netherlands plant.

The deal announced on Monday with the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) covers the “fill and finish” manufacturing capacity of up to 60m doses of the Novavax coronavirus vaccine.

The vaccine is already being produced at a Fujifilm facility in Stockton-on-Tees, though the UK regulator has yet to approve the jab. The finishing will begin at GSK’s facility in Barnard Castle in County Durham from early May.

That's quite a bold statement to make, much like when people claimed Sweden reached herd immunity and then saw dramatic increases a month later.

The eu are to blame for their own crap but pointing fingers elsewhere.

People used to mock Juncker but I don’t think the EU would have made quite the cock-up of the vaccine program if he was still in charge. Ursula von der Leyen seems completely out of her depth in that job.

No, sad that you said 'suck it EU'

I don't know why the EU just don't stop their nonsense with contracts and bans and threats, and just ask Boris to please help them. There's issues with Brexit deal, let the EU negotiate for some vaccines, and the UK for some leniency on the Brexit deal. Is it such a bad idea?

@Dave

Man, felt like I had a heavy hangover this morning. Like I partied all night, drank shots and didn't sleep....at 42 years old. Stupid vaccine!
