But, but, more cases actual than recorded, so heard immunity. But, but, excess deaths. But, but, no dead bodies piled up. But, but...

Yup, there was an article about UKs sharpest decline thanks to vaccines. Guess who's in the 3rd place (see graph attached) ??

I guess the townships did not follow governments advice, did their own thing again and perhaps sourced their own vaccines????

I'm waiting two weeks to witness the bodies lying in the streets caused by the third wave triggered by easter gatherings some were going bananas about and demanding stricter lockdowns.
It seems apparent that our mild curfew and weak booze ban as a second wave lockdown has resulted in a rapid rise and equally rapid decline in deaths.
The big question now is will whatever vaccines people take in south africa do more damage than good if or when another mutation causes a new wave or are we now somewhat immune with probably well over 50% having had the virus asymptomatically or not....

SA government has been grossly understating covid deaths since day 1. The SAMRC has been reporting on this for over a year now, and the numbers don't lie.

I recall last year around June the government had said there was only 14k deaths due to covid, but there was an additional 30k (excess) deaths compared to previous years. This trend has continued.

I have to say, I find it very odd people trust the government 's covid numbers , but don't trust them for anything else.

Here's the latest report.

The number of estimated excess deaths has begun to decrease, consistent with the trend in the number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths. Although more data are needed on the underlying causes of death, this observation is strongly supportive that a significant proportion of the current excess mortality being observed in South Africa is likely to be attributable to COVID-19.

Are you disputing the 95% decline in covid cases in SA since peak?
If so then do the math on the excess death graph. The reduction from peak deaths was over 90% some weeks back already.

A question for those who know everything and are always right:
Why have excess deaths fallen 90% since early January?
Please explain it extra cleary as if talking to stupid idiots.

WTF are you on about? I didn't mention anything about declining rates being true or false.

I am showing that the government has been understating the actual deaths due to covid since the started publishing the numbers. So the reports for the last 12 months show the excess deaths follow the trend of Covid deaths, sometimes as much as twice the covid deaths.

Government refuses to acknowledge that those excess deaths are due to covid. They write them off as natural causes. I would easily say the SA covid deaths are two to three times the stated number.

Due to Xmas and people travelling and visiting family, covid cases spiked towards the end of December. Level 3 lockdown was introduced which after a few weeks resulted in less infections and less deaths.

Excess deaths are increasing again, and this is likely due to the same as Xmas, people travelling and visiting for Easter long weekend.

I agree with this.
The excess death data being way higher than reported covid deaths at least puts paid to all those arguing that no matter what people are dying from it gets marked as covid

This makes no sense. Our latest lockdown was more a couple of minor reatrictions on beachgoers, churchgoers and buying booze on weekends. These restrictions have been 90% lifted and yet no major spike in deaths as a reault of lifting the 'lockdown".

So this one has finally worked then yes?? The one where people could still visit each other, travel and go to work, whereas the past 7 months had done nothing? That one?
They all worked. Yes. More people sanitizing, handwashing, wearing masks, etc. Alcohol ban. Shops taking precautions, curfew. That one, yes.
