Fark around with shyte vaccines and you pay ....

At a news conference presenting the findings, University of Chile's rector, Ennio Vivaldi, went as far as saying that the first dose of CoronaVac on its own did not have "any relevant effect".
CoronaVac was 56.5% effective in protecting people against infection two weeks after they had received their second dose, but the figure was only 3% in the timespan between the first and second doses.

Can the Ivermectin protagonists tell us why India is in such a dire state when they are one of the countries that started administering ivermectin as part of their treatment plan as soon as the pandemic began? Curious to hear those thoughts.

This sounds promising.

UK Clinical Trial Confirms SaNOtize’s Breakthrough Treatment for COVID-19

  • Patients with a self-administered nasal spray application found to have reduced SARS-CoV-2 log viral load by more than 95% in infected participants within 24 hours of treatment, and by more than 99% in 72 hours
  • Trial concluded that treatment accelerated clearance of SARS-CoV-2 by a factor of 16-fold versus a placebo
  • Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evaluated 79 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the majority heavily-infected with the UK variant
  • No adverse events were recorded in the group
  • Submission for Emergency Use in the UK and Canada for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 is planned immediately

Show a link to ANY concerted and state authorised campaign IN India that makes use of IVM as a preventative measure.
There are a few reports of trials in some areas but there is no such campaign going on anywhere nor was there. Most of the trials involve the treatment of those already infected.

Here is a fact check link.

It will be very interesting to see how this thing goes. Will they allow a simple and, it seems effective, nasal spray to compete with billions spent in vaccines?
Will it go the IVM way?
Or will it perhaps be prescribed in conjunction with vaccines to keep everyone happy?

The question we have to ask is:
"will our esteemed, useless regulator (sahpra) take 6 years to approve of the product before we can purchase it in SA if it was imported by someone? And will it only be allowed IF you follow a section 21 process?" And will it be available over-the-counter?

I’m wondering what will happen if it turns out long term prophylactic use of ivermectin turns out to be a bad thing...

Does look good. Too good to be true. How come all the usual websites/publications quiet on this? After a quick google the only places covering it are not that reputable.

There’ll be larger sample size trials which will provide more clarity. The majority of those who are C19+ and symptomatic are usually at their peak by the time or before they get tested/sampled - once symptomatic most viral loads do plummet within a few days in healthy people as the immune system mounts a defense.

India is a bit counter-intuitive, but every country has had waves that are hard to explain. In a recent BBC article I saw two possible explanations:
1. Most buildings do not have air conditioning, and rely on natural ventilation.
2. Most shopping is done at outdoor markets, at least until the monsoon season.

None of these factors offers a clear explanation, but does indicate how complicated the story is. The recent surge is likely due to behavioural changes:
In one of the India vs England ODIs last month there was a full house of spectators, not many with masks, zero social distancing.
Next game no spectators. IPL, no spectators, but messages every 30 minutes telling people to wear masks etc...

So I can see how that wave started.

So if India follows the trends and loses 0.3% of its population, how many deaths would that be?

Very good news. Just wondering how we go about introducing and monitoring nasal spray passports.
