This thing will be like brexit. Have a plan, have a road map, have a deadline.

3 years later, they will still be debating how to get there.

COVEXIT - you heard it here first.
Not at all.

A 4 week delay to allow the vax programme to get further ahead of the curve - not a terrible idea.

Delay in opening up further by another 4 weeks?
Yup.

And remember this opening up means complete removal of all restrictions (apart from the quarantine/isolation stuff for international travel from risky locations).

Makes perfect sense. Especially in the light of the new cases and deaths of people already fully vaccinated.

Deliberately misleading headline intended to imply this applies to anyone with a BMI over 25 whereas in fact the increased risk is almost entirely for those whose is BMI is well over 30.

They need to stop pretending that being overweight and being obese carry the same risk.
Those body builders are gonna kak themselves.

I don't think those are the issue. I think the proportion of people who get hospitalised or die is so much lower post-vax, that they want the entire adult population vaccinated before opening up, so as not to place younger people at unnecessary risk - as it seems Delta is quite effective against youngsters compared to the original...

Somewhat different symptom profile for the Delta variant, could mean young (unvaccinated) people are not being tested in the UK:
Prof Tim Spector, who runs the Zoe Covid Symptom study, says catching the Delta variant can feel "more like a bad cold" for younger people.

But although they may not feel very ill, they could be contagious and put others at risk.

Anyone who thinks they may have Covid should take a test.
"Since the start of May, we have been looking at the top symptoms in the app users - and they are not the same as they were," he says.

The change appears linked to the rise in the Delta variant, first identified in India and now accounting for 90% of Covid cases in the UK.

India averaging 3-3.5 million doses every day and planning to ramp up to 5 million within next 10 days.

Government reckons they can finish vaccination exercise by end of 2021 which seems near impossible at this stage as it will need 9.5 million per day starting today.

Another Spar Owner died yesterday in Namibia, 2nd in less than a week, my mate from Conservation called me to tell me his mum is on her last legs and a lady we know lost both her mum and dad a day apart this weekend...

The Wave is just about here.....
Sho. Not looking good. I vaguely recollect that Dr Paulsie said that these are all mild flu cases and world should be on track soon. MSM just needs to stop making a big deal so as to make this new flu go away I think.

Well, based on the medicine prescribed to a patient sent home from a government hospital that I saw, he is one hundred per cent right. The medication prescribed is EXACTLY the same as that prescribed for the flu.

Your vague recollection sucks.

What Dr. Paulsie said was that if everything in the world was tracked and counted as much as covid (symptoms or no symptoms), people would not be allowed in the streets. Ever.

At least we don't change our opinions and tunes. UNLIKE the WHO.

Again though, WHO does not have an opinion.

"There is no evidence..." does not mean "in our opinion" it means there is no evidence to come to a conclusion. When information changes, understanding changes and thus advice changes.

I've missed you!!

You mean, "there's no evidence of human to human transmission" or "there is no need to close borders with China" or "there is no need to restrict international travel"?

When the WHO, big Pharma and the vested interests in the medical regulatory environment use the term:

"There is no evidence...", they mean "there is no evidence we are prepared to accept".
