IF you go to a public health facility, and they send you home to isolate, they prescribe, ZInplex and Vitamin C and some include a vitamin D supplement as well.

Numbers are rising in the UK (particularly younger adults), but even a single vaccine dose is is relatively effective against variants:
According to latest data from PHE, a single dose of vaccine reduces a person's chances of catching coronavirus and needing hospital treatment by about 75%, even with Delta circulating in the UK.

And among people who had received the recommended two doses, the chances of catching and being hospitalised by coronavirus was reduced by more than 90%.

Was there ever any doubt about the benefits of Vitamin D? Anything that boosts your immune system is obviously going to have some benefit against a virus.

Is it a miracle cure? No.
Been taking it as a supplement ever since I got to the UK. Another really good source is eggs.

They reckon the slight increase in BAME cases is linked to their inability to naturally produce it due to the lack of sunlight here.

So those loonies who've been pushing for zinc + vit D turned out to be, once again, correct???

I've been an advocate for vitamin D pretty much the moment it showed there was evidence for it to be used (as in, first couple of weeks into the pandemic). Why is everything so black and white in some people's minds...

Miracle cure? According to the Israel research, the odds of dying improved from 26% to 3%. That's a 76% improvement, which is on par with some of the vaccines

Don't see anything about zinc there?

You seriously so thick that you don't know about the functions of zinc on/in the immune system?

Or does it have to be spelled to you by Merck for you to accept it?

Wow, you sound a bit triggered there paulsie, maybe refrain from personal insults. I thought the question was about Covid-19 specifically, not the immune system in general. All the research I've seen, including the one you linked to, was about vitamin D on its own, not combined with zinc. I don't need it spelled to me by Merck, I need it spelled to me by proper research and data. I just commented that you added the zinc bit in yourself, that it wasn't in the research you linked to.

What usually triggers me is people with constant personal jibes, without producing any opposing relevant info.
There are others who don't agree with me (or perhaps can't even stand me), but they provide relevant opposing arguments.

And yes, the question was specifically about covid and vit D. I added zinc to it and you attacked it (correction: you attacked me without actually saying my info on zinc is not accurate).

Zinc has well known effects on promoting immune system activity and is well known to reduce symptoms, duration etc in common colds (coronavirus) and other infections.

Why do I go to my GP for advise I got the best medical minds right here on MyBB. Going to save a truck load on medical monthly now.
That will be R600.00 for my consult.

Actually, if you have mild symptoms, you might as well treat yourself with stuff you can get over the counter anyway
ACC 200, Probiflora, Disprin, Vit C, Zinc, Vit D are all over the counter stuff.
If you have a cough, you will get Linctopet.
The most significant med is and S2 drug called Flustat.

I forget to add Paracetamol which is also over the counter.
Add to that an oximeter to alert you when things are going south and you are just about covered.

your bullshyte links once again only on looney sites .....

It seems to stem from a voice recording of someone claiming that their “friend who’s a pilot for BA” had been told that a third pilot had died after getting their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Also, a picture has emerged on social media of four books of condolence for deceased British Airways pilots.

British Airways told Full Fact that it was true that “four members of our pilot community passed away recently” but that “there is no truth whatsoever in the claims on social media speculating that the four deaths are linked.” The image of the books of condolence seems likely to be genuine and for these four staff.

Imagine being this much of an idiot to post this shyte as truth

Four people were killed in an ambush yesterday. AK47 shell casings were found on the scene. There is no truth in the rumour that all four were killed by AK47 bullets notwithstanding that an autopsy found the slugs in their bodies.

Ja right we believe you.
