The Indian PM unilaterally blocked exports of vaccines, so those other countries (including SA) have been left in the lurch.

It's difficult to fault a leader who is willing to go to such lengths and put his/her people first.

Slightly different meanings though. You get a disease variant and a virus mutation. Talking about a disease mutation doesn't make sense, as in a Covid-19 mutation, it's a variant of the disease.

205 new cases of which 61% weren't fully vaccinated. Can't seem to find how many people landed in hospital but probably very few, if any.

But it tests this idea that herd immunity "protects" the unvaccinated. It means that actually, ALL should be vaccinated.

Wrong!
There is the SARS-COV2 virus that has mutated to produce VARIANTS, lots of them with 3 serious ones.
The disease Covid 19 does not mutate or have variants.

Proves how much of a population needs to be vaccinated before you achieve herd immunity.

Probably be similar to measles etc, where you need 95% or so for proper herd immunity.

Forgive me but its 22h00 on a Friday night and I don't have the will to read a 69-page document. On which page does it say that? I read the vaccine effectiveness section and it says the vaccines are slightly less effective at symptomatic cases and hospital which looks pretty encouraging.
