Spoke to my sister in law who is in Aus the other day. According to her it's not the shortage vaccines but shortage of interest amongst population. Apparently because of their isolation, people have just not felt the effects of covid. As such they don't really see a reason to vaccinate.

Not sure on that.. in news on Australian vaccine program it was a question of supply.. they were dependent on AZ from India and then that came to a halt.

While they have vaccinated more in sheer numbers.. for a developed country they are far behind much like Spain. So yah.. some anti vax sentiment may be true but international media is pretty damning on their program much like ours were on our gov issues with getting things going.

Ps. I see local antivaxxors matching, I kinda want to laugh at them. Will post the vid in the local focused thread.

Interesting .. booster may be needed sooner than later .. Israeli Channel 13 reporting that 56% of Israelis (who had been vaxxed up to mid-March) and now taking the rate of decline in efficacy into account means that in about a month to a month and a half only 16% will in effect remain vaccinated. The vaccinated are in the process of becoming unvaccinated.

It's a work in progress. It evolves. You have to look at the data - Fauci

Without a link to be able to verify where their facts (or opinion) is coming from you may as well be posting what Qanon is saying about the vaccine…

The real picture is more complicated than this. The evidence so far is that at worst the protection against severe illness and hospitalization holds. The UK evidence is showing even more protection is maintained.

If anyone is completely losing all benefit from having been vaccinated it so far looks like they'll be the minority.

Which does actually happen, people do lose protection, but it is the minority, same as it's the minority that get severely ill from vaccines.

More detail from Israeli MoH data last Thursday: "The report has also reflected the decreasing potency of the vaccination, showing a mere 16 percent effectiveness against transmission among those vaccinated in January, compared to 44 percent of those vaccinated in February, 67 percent of those who received their shots in March, and 75 percent for those vaccinated in April."

Vaccinations every month the way to go? If so, great business for Pfizer, Moderna, etc.
At worst annual and only if you feel the need is more realistic. The claims about waning protection are deliberately misleading when posted in the form seen here. It is clearly intended to imply that all protection is being reduced.

Suppose he thinks he's dodging the no fake news rule by just sucking it out his arse .....
Those are the actual numbers from the Israeli researchers, but leaves out a lot of important information. The researchers stating that there is high uncertainty in their results due to the low number of cases, that this is only in regard to transmission not protection from severe illness and hospitalisation.

But wearing masks and lockdowns work...
Have you noticed how the "Get vaccinated so we can go back to normal" narrative has also quietly disappeared, replaced with the same propaganda for lockdowns and masks: "Get vaccinated so you and others don't have to suffer or die"
