Spanish citizens who were fined for violating a nearly three-month COVID-19 lockdown last spring will be reimbursed, the Associated Press reported.

In the announcement Friday, the Ministry of Territorial Affairs said the measure would apply to the 1.1 million fines that were issued to hundreds of thousands of people for violating stay-at-home orders that began in March 2020, The New York Times reported.

Not every fine that was issued has been paid, AP reported. Spain said it collected around 115 million euros, or $134 million, in fines as of July, The Times reported.

In March 2020, Spain ordered its 47 million residents to stay home as the novel coronavirus spread across the country, The Washington Post reported. It was the second European country, after Italy, to order a nationwide lockdown.

The measure, initially a 15-day state-of-emergency, was extended as the virus continued to spread.

Spain's lockdown was one of the strictest in the world, prohibiting even children from going outside to play, The Times reported.

"I've forgotten what it's like to be on a street," 9-year-old Lia Aparicio Cenador told The Times in April 2020.

The decision to reimburse the fines that were paid came after a July ruling by Spain's Constitutional Court that said the government had overstepped its powers and violated freedom of movement rights, The Times reported.

Victorian officials set record straight after leaked email revealed Aus Open twist

Victorian government ministers have set the record straight after a leaked email suggested unvaccinated tennis players could be allowed to enter the country to play in the Australian Open.
The memo to women’s players said Tennis Australia had shared “some good news” last week after “false and misleading information” surrounding COVID-19 vaccine mandates and quarantine conditions.
It is claimed unvaccinated players will be permitted to play if they are prepared to undergo two weeks of hard quarantine prior to the tournament.
But that plan is at odds with the Victorian government’s re-opening, which includes mandates for professional athletes to be vaccinated.
It also comes after federal immigration minister Alex Hawke last week said “everyone that comes to Australia will have to be double vaccinated”.
Victorian sports minister Martin Pakula maintains nothing has been set in stone as of Monday morning.
“I don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” he told 3AW.
“We’re still talking to the feds and that will play out over the next two or three weeks.
“And it will be done in plenty of time for all of the players to know what the requirements are and for those who aren’t vaccinated to get vaccinated.

Even the "leak" has it as 14days quarantine if unvaccinated
Not much of a victory but hey, whatevs:laugh:

Correct, Pfizer states clearly on page 15 of their FDA fact sheet that they have not evaluated the vaccine for the potential to cause carcinogenicity, genotoxicity, or impairment of male fertility, etc.

So herein lies the seed of many of the concerns being expressed by many who question the logic of continued exposure to vaccine boosters. It is one thing to have a vaccine, once-off and then never again, and repeating the jab every six months in the absence of proof of its long term safety.

It is therefore disingenuous for all of those that make a flat out statement that the vaccines are safe. The truth is no one knows. It is therefore also totally irresponsible for a government to expect people to expose themselves to increased risk by insisting on a repetitive jab regime every six months.

What we need is a concerted effort to find an effective treatment for Covid to deal with people who contract Covid 19 in support of the vaccines.

He was talking about people requiring one booster shot after 6 months, not a perpetual 6 month booster shot.

Worth reading this article, that clarifies that the booster shot improves immunity (even those who had natural Covid), and should not need to be repeated indefinitely:
