Because beta, a less contageous variant, could not find enough hosts to sustain itself and it died out or moved elsewhere once approximately 50% had been infected by alpha or beta.
Certainly not because of vaccinations as the rollout had just started.
I would hazard a guess that this is exactly what is happening to Delta right now.

Private or NHS? Former seems like it's going to have to be my choice soon, as I finally got my referral appointment with a cardiologist after waiting for 8 months.
NHS. I was surprised by his determination.

I was right on the verge of using my private medical aid, but this guy was extremely proactive.

FDA Asks Federal Judge to Grant it Until the Year 2076 to Fully Release Pfizer’s COVID-19 Vaccine Data

Aaron Siri writes:
The FDA asked the judge to let it produce the 329,000+ pages of documents Pfizer provided to the FDA to license its vaccine at the rate of 500 pages per month, which means its production would not be completed earlier than 2076.
Nothing to see, nothing to hide here?
To be able to give informed consent, I will wait until 2076 to decide to take the jab then.

The regions of Salzburg and Upper Austria will introduce a lockdown for the entire population next week, according to an announcement on Thursday, with nationwide measures set to be decided tomorrow.

Upper Austria governor Thomas Stelzer confirmed on Thursday morning that both regions would go into lockdown next week, regardless of what is decided on Friday for the national measures.

“We don’t have much leeway, to say the least. We have very, very little leeway,” he said.

“If there is no nationwide lockdown, Upper Austria and Salzburg will go into lockdown from next week,” said Stelzer, adding that he would advocate for the measure to be imposed nationwide at Friday’s meeting between the government and regional leaders.

Stelzer did not give a specific timeframe for the lockdown, but said that it would last for multiple weeks. The details are set to be clarified with experts on Thursday afternoon.

The announcement comes as Austria is in the first week of a nationwide ten-day lockdown for people without 2G (proof of either full vaccination against Covid-19 or recent recovery from the virus).

So all healthy people have a Covid infection?

Do you really have a serious condition of Covid-19 when you are not sick, breathing normal, have no symptoms and going about your normal daily life? Hell, who knows, perhaps you have asymptomatic lung cancer too. Perhaps have 3 or 4 asymptomatic heart attacks a day?

Call it what it is - Asymptomatic = Healthy. Let's call a spade a spade.

If the vaccines worked well then the un-vaxxed are no threat to the vaxxed.
If they don't work well then why support campaigns to vaccinated everyone by coercion?
Vaccine zealots have logic problems while claiming superiority.

Actually on that:
Is healthy "not suffering of an issue",or "not having an issue",because @LCBXX considers looking Fat to be a health issue regardless of suffering any effects
By that token asymptomatic is not Healthy.
Is being diabetic or a cardiac patient going about their normal day without any events Healthy?

Let them do it. All it will accomplish is lift the thin veil that the "dirty" are responsible for infections and hospitalisations. Hell, they've come this far why not refuse the "dirty" hospital admission too,
Bear in mind that these countries (eg Czech Republic for example) are now also removing the option of negative testing and only allow for vaccines.
Sense much??

There's been a lot of commentary in the past 5-10 years about the collapse in trust of institutions in the West --- this will worsen even further as governments, even in highly vaxxed countries such as Ireland, reimpose lockdowns and the like because we all remember the quid-pro-quo that many Western governments informally had with their citizens...

You think the reason governments want people to get vaccinated is because they are a threat to vaccinated people?

Actually, yes, people have cancer for a while before things start kicking off, and ghost heart attacks a thing, too.
