The USA has just placed SA on the banned travel list as well.

WASHINGTON – The United States will restrict travel for non-U.S. citizens from South Africa and seven other countries starting on Monday, part of a global effort to stem the spread of the heavily mutated omicron variant of Covid-19, according to senior Biden administration officials.

In addition to South Africa, other countries included in the new restrictions are Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Malawi.

KLM is continuing to fly to and from SA, it's just that now flights from SA are restricted to Dutch passport holders and EU citizens.

So Europeans are allowed to fly to and from SA but South Africans are not allowed to fly to and from Europe, on the same exact flights.

Agree. Long gone too late for these silly games. But, the governments of the countries involved have told their citizens a bunch of lies and now have to defend the lies at all costs.

Will continue until one of those passport holders, vaccinated or not, arrive home with this bug, if they have not already done so. Then those flights will dry up as well.
