I've been investigating day trading stocks in the US markets. I'm coming to a grinding halt due to the excessive commission prices and minimum account fees from Brokers.

Eg. Interactive Brokers - Min $10 000 deposit
Speedtrader - Min $25 000 deposit
Suretader - $20 per trade
TD ameritrade - Not supported in South Africa

I've been looking into the JSE but they seem like more of a longer-term investment to see any good returns.

I'm starting to have my doubts about day trading stocks in the US and would appreciate any recommendations.

I use Easy Equities. No account fees. There are some cost associated with trading though. You can minimize them if you manage to get onto their Thrive program which lessens costs on some stocks and ETF's. I haven't had any trouble with them, others have. I will edit this with the big thread about them, but it's a hella long read.
