Under the regulations, ISPs must register with the FPB.

“Every Internet service provider must, when making an application for registration as an internet service provider, indicate in the application form all measures, or steps taken or put in place to ensure that children are not exposed to child pornography and pornography,” the regulations state.

The FPB may require ISPs to demonstrate that their measures to protect children are still effective.
Aka pay even more fees for no absolute reason, with zero benefits to the ISP's or anybody else this would affect. HahahahahahaAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm trying to think. Opening my favorite porn website after 10pm , when kiddies is asleep. Will telkom send somebody to come and verify my age, and then sit with me to make sure my kids don't come into the room?

hmmm eureka moment. Does Telkom maybe have any sexy 21 year old female technicians available to come and police me every friday and saturday evening please?

Nawp, you'll get Big Mama Afrika instead...

So how are peer-to-peer networks managed then as I don't actually have any control over what I'm "serving"? So many more networks and instant messaging platforms are moving away from centralised models to federated and P2P.

Assuming the legal challenges will start in due course - how much longer can private SA keep funding hugely costly legal challenges to absolute dog**** government regulation?

There should be a rule that for every new law that you create you have to revoke two.

According to an article on the Department of Agriculture’s website, South Africa had effectively eliminated rinderpest from the country by around 1903.

nice touch

Same as POPIA. Nothing happened and even more sites got hacked.
POPIA, the thing that means squat.

I had a Outsurance rep call me to ask if I can read out my contacts list, name and number from A-Z for a potential discount on my monthly premiums. I asked him to confirm what he wants me to do 3 times, ran him around for 2 weeks and still had no idea what he was asking for was wrong.

Not saying I have a recording, but I'm sure they have a recording of all of the bs this guy spewed.
