Internet Stops working after a while. Can not download file stops before 10 Meg

I live in Hermanus, western Cape area and I use my samsung OMnia as modem through windows mobile-internet sharing.

I have found that for over a month now when trying to download a file larger than 10 meg internet flow will just stop. I can still ping a site and it works fine. I have tested the max MTU and changed it to 1400.

I have also inserted MTN's DNS servers manually.

If i do ipconfig /flushdns Internet browsing will work again. I have reported this problem to coverage helpdesk. Their technician contacted me one day and said he has bad news, he said they have installed a unit by law to prevent child porn and its this unit's fault why my Internet stops or why I can not download a file larger than 10 megs.

I think its nonsense. I have also reset my winsock and everything else. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

The topic is a bit misleading....if the internet stops working, the world is basically under attack from global hackers or an alien invasion.

Is it not perhaps your connection to your service provider that stops working?

Yeah lol

I mean the data flow stops. I stay connected but browsing email and anything else just pauses.

Untill I do ipconfig /flushdns

when it does pauses ping still works.

Vodacom Sim Card Works

Yesterday 3G network reception was down and came back again later the afternoon. But then all of the sudden Omnia phone said no reception even though the band selection is on Automatic.

If forced on 800/1900 it works with edge.

I tested with Vodacom sim card and found that reception working and that Internet works without stopping after 10 Meg download.

Tested my sim card in other phone as well and it worked. Placed another MTN sim card in my Omnia and it did the same thing. First it picks up edge then 3g full bars and then all of the sudden no network.
