Introducing the electric truck that is making deliveries in Gauteng

Does it still have gears? I thought EVs were mostly auto?

I dunno, please buy me a Model S, so I can test for you...

No gears. The range and torque of the electric motors is sufficient to cover all speeds

I often wonder when all transport goes electric where these cANCer morons will get their fuel tax from. Maybe introduce air tax. :)

Will the ANC still be in power when that happens? I am certain the Freedom Front will be ruling over the land by then looking at their recent performance.

Probably some sort of mandatory 3rd party insurance for all vehicles will compensate for the decrease in fuel levy income

Electrical tax for EV tax. They being thieving useless scum have always got a tax for whatever can be taxed next.

Excellent, about time we reduce components that can break on heavy vehicles, not to mention the huge pollution savings if these vehicles eventually can be run purely on solar generation.

The 90km/h is good. Now to go for the taxis.

The Republic of the Western Cape will be up an running by the time electric cars take over, one can just move over there to escape the taxes.

For a small truck yes that's a reasonable speed.

I'm usually one that complains about prohibitive speeding laws in SA for cars especially this is true however after driving my own large trucks a few times with a load for fun I can tell you large trucks should actually be forced by law to have limiters set to 80km/h max!

Maybe even get it checked/verified at licence renewal time.

The Glorious Republic already has electric buses. And electricity.
