John Pendry from Imperial College London has built a calcite cloak that can work in air, hiding objects a few centimetres high.

the calcite cloak uses naturally occurring materials that cost only about US$1,000 to make and are easy to manipulate

Visible spectrum nogal. Finally making some proper progress with this. :cool:

Not really. From what I understand about carpet cloaks you can still see the actual cloak. For example if a person lied down on the floor and you covered them with it, you would see the carpet but not the bulge of the person under it. It would just look like a smooth piece of fabric on the floor.

More l33t camouflage than invisibility.
