Is it possible to get an extra sim to use in the ipad and keep the other sim in the dongle. Both sims linked to the same bundle/account?

It can be done, yes - but only on contracts, not prepaid. VC call it a datasim (you can have up to 4). Not sure what CellC call it.

It's possible already on a contract. Cell_C (their MyBB rep) confirmed this a while ago already.

Lovely Off to sort it out tomorrow!!

Speedster - good question, however i have found that there are two different sizes of the metal strip on the sim cards that Cellc are offering. It seems the sim you receive with your bundle has the larger metal piece where as you can purchase a sim with a smaller metal piece from any other retailer (the sim card sizes stay the same). This makes it very difficult to get the size of the card right when you cut it to fit it into a microsim slot. on the larger metal piece you have to trim the metal piece, where as on a sim with the smaller metal piece you basically just trim the plastic around the sides. Reading some blogs there are very mix results of people which have tried to trim the larger metal sims.
Not quite sure why the different sizes of the metal piece when the actual sim stays the same size - maybe someone else can clarify this??

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Decided to attempt cutting my larger metal sim as it was going to be useless after I did the sim swop anyway
Worked perfectly using it right now on my iPad and saved me the R150 for the sim swop
I followed the lined made on the card for my dongle and compared that to the AT&T card I got with my iPad and matched the two

If you put a 2GB pm sim card (you get what I mean) in the iPad are you limited to 7.2Mbps?

Think it has to do with the data capacity of the SIM's. eg 64k vs 128k

The larger ones are 128k which Cell C calls Power SIMs if I'm not mistaken. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

iPad2 vs Xoom

Type iPad2 vs Xoom in your browser. Choice is obvious:)

They say first problem with Xoom "it feels like a brick compared to iPad2 yet it's screen is smaller" so I suppose typing is terrible if you have to share it with the pop up keyboard. :)
