The Air2 looks quite stunning with the improved screen, chipset and camera. The Mini2 is totally boring obviously but at least my retina Mini is pretty much up to date still. The retina iMacs are insane - $2500 for a 5k screen with an R9 graphics card in-one is an amazing deal. Also very intrigued by the new Apple sim that can switch carriers on the fly.

What improved screen? The resolution is exactly the same. It's just a bit thinner, slightly faster with a better cam. I'm disappointed but I would still get it for the missus.

The resolution is the same but they made a lot of improvement to the screen. The pixels are closer to the glass and the anti reflective coating. Gizmodo hands on the guy was quite impressed with the new screen.

Okay, I'll take a look. I wonder how much the iPad Air would go for now.

I bought an Air 2 today, and the screen is noticeably better than the Air. It's sharoer and the colour is deeper IMO (I compared them side by side in an Apple Store) as I returned my Air just after release last year (I hated the "hollow" feel of the screen and went back to a 4).

The extra RAM makes a big difference, I noticed one of the demo units had around 25 tabs open in Safari and there was still no reloading of tabs when moving between them.

Speed of use is noticeably quicker as well. Fingerprint sensor is as good as on the 6 (much more reliable than the 5s).

Where did you buy it? It's not available here yet.

Nice one man; hoping for a decent price drop of the 1st Gen Air.

iPad Air cases don't work properly for the Air 2, the camera is in a different position, as are the volume buttons. The iPad will physically fit into the cases though, just with a bigger "lip" when it's clipped in. Off course no camera use in the case.

eBay search sucks when trying to search Air 2 and getting everything for the Air in the results...

There isn't so much noise about the Air2 but it looks like a serious upgrade. For one thing, the processor is insane. It even thrashes the Nvidia K1 on graphics benchmarks. And the screen reflectance is greatly improved, plus the thickness - and finally 2gb ram on an iOS device, can you imagine?

That, and that it goes back to Apple's initial model of the X-level chipset being present on their tablets.

2GB of RAM- looks like one can now load more than two tabs in Safari without the pages reloading.

Unless that tablet is a Mini :/

That's my nr1 iOS frustration, especially when cooking with multiple tabs open for recipes at the same time.
