Ipad databundles on R49 prepaid datasim?

I hope someone can assist and tell me how do I get a datasim (new R49 for 200MB Telkommobile data per month) provisioned so that I can buy iPad data bundles? The call centre is unable to assist me.

You need to visit the nearest Telkom Store with your ID, Proof of residence and R49 to get the SIM activated. Once the SIM is active then you need to register or log on to the IPAD portal.

I remember back in the day you had to go directly to an iStore to get hold of a micro sim card to work on the NEW iPad, not sure what the rules are now days but OP, you need proof of residence (not older than 3 months), ID book with you. I have seen Telkom Mobile Limited Internet Starter packs at Edgars & CNA not sure what other retailer have them in stock..

I use more than 200 megs per month for general surfing on the iPad

OP wants to use R49 Internet Starter Pack 2.4GB (12x200MB). It is preloaded on SIM. There is no way to transfer this package to iPad SIM. But Telkom Mobile wrote above that reverse is possible. We need confirmation.

OP have you read how to register for the iPad zone - not sure if you will forfeit your current bundle.

I did purchase the Prepaid Datasim for R49 at a Telkom store in Clearwater Mall. My problem is that when I want to register on the link provided in your response, I get the following error: Invalid iPad sim ID/ID Number combination

I was however able to register this sim using this SIMID and my ID number on my account. It seems that the sim must first be provisioned for iPad Data bundles.

We tried to contact you and you were not available. Please be advised that we have added your SIM to the ipad portal range and you should now be able to register on the ipad portal and be able to purchase the bundles. We have also replied to the PM sent.
