iPad Pro pre-order prices for South Africa

Use me pad everyday and really fancied the "big Screen" , but there be no way that the English HO will hand over the pieces of gold to finance the device..... :erm:

Wonder what it cost to make?

About R4k more for the bigger screen and better processor when compared to the Air 2. Not too bad, but now the price is in the area of some really desirable laptops.

This.. price a bit high for cellular vs wifi and the top range only having 128GB. Still.. high enough to make you evaluate use case and decide if an iPad Pro is what u really need.

PS. The Air i have when held with one hand for long periods becomes a strain.. the Pro is gonna hurt like crazy! I suggest people have a look at it in store 1st

Apple are making some very odd decisions lately.

Unless the iPad Pro becomes more than just a super fast oversized regular iPad I see this being a massive financial flop for them (if it isn't already).

Also who the hell thought that plugging a long delicate stylus into the charging port of an iPad was a good idea?

I don't see the purpose of this thing. I could be wrong but I cannot see many people having a use for something like this.

What an enormous price tag. Isn't it better to get their Macbooks or something i think those offer better value for money...

Guess I'll get myself a laptop instead, oh wait, I did.
Way to overpriced.

You can't say "financial flop" and "Apple" in the same sentence. Apple has piles of cash, and their iPhones print money. They're the most valuable company in the world really.

I think this Pro device is meant for artists or designers. It's not meant for everyone. I think eventually, Apple will get the formula and pricing right, then it'll become standard for artists/designers to use over a Cintiq tablet.

You're right about the charging port, though.

Tablet sales are dropping so I doubt this is going to fly

It's more the apps which will be available for it that will make it fly.

Obviously they're not expecting iPad sales, but this will sell. Mostly to corporates and other media/design houses, I reckon.

Have you read the pre order reviews? basically the stylus comes with a male to female lighting port adaptor for charging via the lightening cable to a USB source. The top cap male lightening port is that if you in a bind u can quickly plug it into the iPad Pro and recharge the stylus for immediate use, check the charge time vs usage time and u see this makes a lot of sense.. I agree with the whole its precarious but.. it has its use cases for which it makes a lot of sense and allows u to recharge the stylus without any cables on the fly.. i remember something 15 seconds charge = 30 minutes use

Once again the jokers giving their 2c.

It's a Gen 1 product & so has its usual quirks but you *cannot* underestimate the tech under the hood.

I mean it can edit 3 streams of 4k video simultaneously...on a tablet!

As expensive as it is it *will* sell.
