iPad WHY are People Buying this useless thing?

In past two weeks i have been using my cousins iPad which I was planning to buy from him once I experienced first had all the hype!

I happen to own an iPhone. To me all the iPad is, is bigger version of the useless iPhone! Good fashion statement though, cool gadget to have....nothing more.

Now I would like to know why do people fork out so much money for something that doesnt have USB port, HDMI connection, very far from being mini PC of some sort(GIANT iphone yes).

WHY?
 
don't you know???? its all about the looks and being "in".

not impressed by the new ipad 2 either....no great improvements, should have been named ipad 1.1.
But even though it's not meant for me ..there is a huge market out there for people (non computer savy people) that want a tablet to surf the net and check emails etc.
 
Just as useless as there electronic books. Who the hell lies in bed and reads off one of those things?

Woah, careful those are fighting words around here. With Apple products, you don't necessarily have own one to enjoy it's awesomness, just read positive things about them.

But in all seriousness I am no fanboy of either android, apple, windows or anything else.
If some new company comes out with a new tablet and a new OS that can more or less replace a laptop and it works perfectly...then I am all for it and would jump ship.
I only follow technology and not any particular company.

On a side note, what I found funny about the ipad announcement yesterday is that Steve jobs said 2011 was the year of the copycats referring to motorola, hp , samsung tablets.
He was right cause that so called smart cover for the ipad 2 is a COPY of the Incase convertible jacket.(https://www.goincase.com/products/detail/convertible-magazine-jacket-cl57779/1)

Can't explain to you how useful and easy each device is. I use them every day of my life. And I bought them because I can!! :)

It's fast, it's simple and it works well.

Check out Engadget's hands on video with the iPad 2. That thing is blazing fast.

It works? When doing what exactly? Have you downloaded the calculator app yet! :D

CALCULATOR doesn't come standard wow :wtf:

Kindle is 241 g
iPad is 680 g

When readying with your arms up, weight is everything. I don't believe an iPad is comfortable. Kindle probably is.
