Good Day Everyone,

Like everyone else I too have experienced the many ups and downs of iBurst. A couple of months ago however I installed an ipCop firewall to manage my iBurst connection for me.

What is ipCop?

IPCop Firewall is a Linux firewall distribution geared towards home and SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) users. The IPCop interface is very user-friendly and task-based. IPCop offers the critical functionality of an expensive network appliance using stock, or even obsolete, hardware and OpenSource Software.

By installing an ipCop appliance you can:

1. Secure your home network from the internet.
2. Improve the performance of web browsers (by keeping frequently used information)

All this functionality can be managed from a simple to use web interface, even updates and patches can be installed using a web browser.
Remember IPCop works with most home networks and small office networks, dial up modems, cable modems, ADSL, Leased lines and ISDN. It also lets several PCs share connections to the internet. If you have an always on connection to can even use IPCop to protect your web and email servers. IPCop also has remote management meaning you can securely update and reconfigure your IPCop firewall from anywhere with an internet connection!

The ipCop appliances that I am selling however have been specifically designed for the wonderful and frustrating world of iBurst using a variety of different addons to add additional proxy support (including user authentication and caching) and traffic management addons that will limit traffic and stop those unexpected end of month slip ups.

If anyone is interested in purchasing an ipCop appliance there are two options and price does vary:

1> If you have old hardware at home (min P2 recommended) we can do an installation for a minimal rate.
2> If you would like us to source hardware for you and purchase a all in one appliance you may do so. (PM me for pricing).

If anyone is interested please PM me. Very reasonable pricing. 30-Day Money Back Guarantee. Guaranteed to make the iBurst experience feel a little bit more like broaband internet should.

Ciao :D

Heh, that's a brave claim to make ;)

BTW: Remember to include a copy of the GPL with every installation you do/sell.

Well, its the closest we are ever going to get to true broadband in this country. hey, :( And yeah I am aware that a copy of the GPL license needs to be included.

that's a cool idea, rudis.

I think a better idea would be to sell m0n0wall routers running off a IDE-CF card than a harddrive-smoothwall/ipcop router.
