Stuff like this is what puts me off buying an iPhone, or any Apple device really. Rather than get giddy with excitement at what amazing battery life their highly optimised new device could get with a more typical 3,500-4,000mAh battery, they instead calculate how little they can spend on their batteries to maintain some approximation of the previous gen's battery life. Whilst selling the iPhone 12 for $100 more than the iPhone 11.

But smaller batteries are less harmful to the environment than large ones. Think of the kids!

I know it's sarcasm but a smaller battery would wear out faster and have more being thrown away.

Suppose the size doesn't matter if it lasts all day long at the least. Don't know iPhone battery performance since I last owned an iPhone in 2011/12. They've always managed to get a lot out of their smaller relative capacity batteries due to the high level of optimisation and integration they have.

Yeah I must say, as an Apple user I am very disappointed in this release. I think I’ll stay with my 11 Pro Max.

Yeah I think coming off 11 Pro Max the extra features; or lack there of, might not warrant the upgrade. Coming off a iPhone X as in my case it is pretty tempting.

That makes sense.

Some people have real staying power, I got fed up with Apple & went Android when my 3GS broke 2 weeks out of warrantee after their software update and they didn't want to fix it.

Forgot iPhone on bathroom and it got taken. I just never went back to iPhone since then. Nice devices but a bit pricey and I've become a bit invested in droid. Though I could easily go back given I still own an iPad but that's also like 10 years old.

That's unfortunate, I was always under the impression that iPhones were not stolen as often because of it being married to the associated iCloud account and it being a little harder to remove than with Android devices.

Title should be
iPhone 12 battery has a smaller capacity than the iPhone 11's

I legit thought they meant the actual physical size of the battery, meaning a smaller size phone

sure they have their legit reasons, mainly due to them wanting moar money come upgrade time.

Well the person walked into the stall, and there lay a nice iPhone. It sucked to lose it in a building at work full of mostly professionals who typically don't pocket stuff people forget in places. But the person meant to steal as they immediately switched it off. Doubt they used it other than for spare parts as it was locked down hard.
