So with iPhone 4G being released overseas in July, when can we expect it in South Africa?

i thought the same thing....only the new OS has been released with some rumoured 'pics' what is said to be the new iPhone. Mind you it does look nice

Vodacom is usually pretty clueless about a new iPhone, when they are getting it and when they will be selling it

Well, the short answer is No - however...

1) Previous iPhone release dates (not ours, overseas):
Original: June 29, 2007
3G: July 11, 2008
3GS: June 19, 2009

2) SaskTel CEO (Canadian mobile company) sort of let it slip (and then a day later or so, submitted a retraction to what he said):
"We’re building the 3G network right now. It will be up and running for July 1st (with) completion by the end of this year.” In addition, to kick things off when it comes to devices, Watson also stated that “The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June time-frame and they’re going to put us on that. So we’re quite excited about that.”

3) I dont know if youve seen the "completed" (Im sure changes can still exist, but looks pretty solid to me) iPhone 4G (in order of articles being released to the public):

Yeah, I would of course want it yesterday - but Im guessing we will probably only get it later in the year - before December I sure as hell hope :S

Uh, that phone hasn't been released it was accidentally leaked see here

The new OS 4.0 has been seeded to developers on beta and will probably be available late US Summer see here

However thinking of a product leak as a product launch is very post modern. You've probably just invented Advertising 3.0, so Well Done!

lol - no - I never said it was released. That particular phone was "lost" - or as Apple claims, stolen.

You will never get an exact date from a VC. If they do provide one, they'll be breaking promises....
