The power button on my iPhone 5 has been acting up and when I checked online to see how other people have fixed similar problem I realised its a known issues and my phone is among a batch with known issues and can be brought in for repairs. I was wondering first if this applies to South African customers as well and secondly how I can go about the whole process because seems contacting Apple SA is a surprisingly complex procedure. I live in the East London area in case Apple has regional repair centres.

I remember following this Story and it was indeed an issue at first but later reveal that you should be able to take it to your Cell Provider or to the MyiStore...

Though that was some time back you will need to check in and see if they are still prepared to repair it?

At the time when I had this problem, I was still in the first year of my contract, so the warranty was still covered.

Took it to Cell C who sent it for repairs and a few weeks later I got a brand new phone.

Yeah not in SA.
Best bet is to call IfixIT, they fixed mine for free but that was just a promotion, call them and get a quotation, http://ifix.co.za/
