Hai guys

I have some questions about the iPhone 5s deals I've been seeing offered by Vodacom and Telkom. It's not about the deals themselves, just the phones. So here goes:

1) What's iOS 9x like on these devices? How bad is the slow-down currently compared to iOS 7? (which I know there'll be a very slim chance of getting on these devices)
2) If anyone has a 5s currently, how well is it coping with your workload today?
3) Which browsers are people using on these things currently? Safari, or something like Opera Mini?
4) How quickly do these phones charge to full battery, and how expensive are the Lightning cable replacements?
5) What voltage and amperage rating is the charger that comes with the 5s? I know I can look at GSMArena or reviews, but there's a chance that newer ones are getting bundled with the CPO deals.

Thanks!

1) What's iOS 9x like on these devices? How bad is the slow-down currently compared to iOS 7? (which I know there'll be a very slim chance of getting on these devices) Hmm, seems to just like any other iOS device, not any noticeably slower compared to an iPhone6
2) If anyone has a 5s currently, how well is it coping with your workload today? Using a CPO, works like a charm. no issues even with work stuff. If very intensive usage, battery will almost last a day, otherwise, more than a day.
3) Which browsers are people using on these things currently? Safari, or something like Opera Mini? I use Chrome, works fine, however, doesnt work as well as on android.
4) How quickly do these phones charge to full battery, and how expensive are the Lightning cable replacements? Charges really quickly, maybe in less than an hour to around 80%? Cables are ridiculous, almost R200 for a genuine one, the chinese knockoffs are available, however the quality crap.
5) What voltage and amperage rating is the charger that comes with the 5s? I know I can look at GSMArena or reviews, but there's a chance that newer ones are getting bundled with the CPO deals. Hmm, i think mine was a 1A charger IIRC.

Thanks!

What slow down? I can't even remember iOS7 it's that long ago. Why on earth would you suffer that?

2) If anyone has a 5s currently, how well is it coping with your workload today?

I went from a 5S to a 5S CPO, literally no difference at all. This after a brief stint with a Lumia 830 and I can't be happier to be back.

3) Which browsers are people using on these things currently? Safari, or something like Opera Mini?

I use Safari most of the time but also have Chrome installed.

4) How quickly do these phones charge to full battery, and how expensive are the Lightning cable replacements?

No idea, why does it matter? 2 hours or so I would reckon.

Cables are as expensive as you make them. I recommend the Kanex ones from Takalot as cheaper alternatives (also longer). The chinese options often don't work or break very quickly. ALWAYS pull the cable on the connectors, not the wire itself.

5) What voltage and amperage rating is the charger that comes with the 5s? I know I can look at GSMArena or reviews, but there's a chance that newer ones are getting bundled with the CPO deals.

No idea, again I don't know why this matters?

I use a 5S, family member uses a 5S CPO...no difference in performance/battery life/accessories etc.

I can't say that iOS 9 feels any slower than iOS 7 or 8...works perfectly and with decent speed on both our phones. We both use Safari, no issues. Battery charges fast, lasts 1.5 days or longer depending on usage.

I use a cheap R50 China mall cable at work, hasn't given me any problems. At home I use the original cable that came with the phone.

Just don't get a 16GB phone if you are planning on taking videos or photos.

I use my Mini 2 extensively with 9.2; same A7 CPU & 1gb RAM as 5s.

It's still super smooth; no lag even during have "heavy" multitasking.

I see no reason why a 5s would have any lag on iOS 9.x
