Whenever an Android-running device gets served by an iPhone, the same arguments ensue like, 'my phone can transfer files by Bluetooth' and blah blah. As if that matters to everyone.

I've had 3 android devices, and I hardly transferred music or pics by Bluetooth. I for one don't like sharing music. Whenever I need a song, there's the iTunes app

Exactly.

But you have to pay... It's far easier transferring pirated music over to your phone... Screw the musicians, praise Android and piracy!

1. How often have we heard the counter argument of "you're just jealous because you can't afford an iPhone". Which of course totally ignores the fact that most flagship devices cost the same monthly fee on contract.

How many times have you heard iPhones being described as overpriced for the specs?

True that.

They will also fail to mention that the S5 is packing a 2.5Ghz Quad processor with 2 Gigs of Ram compared to iPhones 1.4Ghz Dual with 2GB.

iPhone only have a gig of RAM. So In my opinion it only amplifies what Apple can do with less. Half the RAM, half the cores and almost half the clock speed of those cores. iOS is a superior operating system in terms of performance. Fact.

My brain is dizzy today, missed that. Fixed... again.

For sure! I loved how everyone was talking down on the specs - the proof is in the results!

Bluetooth has more uses than transferring music.

Opinion, not fact. The video proves that they can do quite a bit with 'tech that has been around for ages'. Why aren't the other phones faster?

You mean specs that have been around for ages. Their tech is cutting edge.

Is everyone ignoring the fact apps are coded differently for Android and iOS? So comparing speed using 3rd party apps is irrelevant?

iOS is also closed source, has a far smaller pool of hardware that it needs to function on, and is developed by a company that controls every aspect of the hardware and software integration level. So naturally, it makes sense that it is able to beat a far more fragmented and device-agnostic OS when it comes to performance.

While I do agree with the sentiment, one also needs to consider that the OS as a whole allows for a better app experience in a number of cases, by nature of how well it's integrated with the hardware.

As I said in a previous thread- let's run this sort of test once Apple devices are using apps that utilise more extensibility features and are running in a more similar state to their Android brethren.

They may be coded differently but at the end of the day, they perform better on iOS.

As a user, I would want a product with the best performance, how it's coded is irrelevant to me.
