So the iPhone wins because the others restart the app ... ?

Not really speed then but rather the different OSs?

Well, the test is based on the speed and responsiveness of the different OS's, not sure what you mean by your second question?

Isn't it because the 2 Gig RAM S5 Ran out of memory? I bet you the S6 will have 4 Gigs RAM

It's just very difficult to test two totally different systems when they're behaving differently?

Video says the S5 had reopen a certain app while the iPhone 6 had it in RAM?

I dunno - I just heard towards te end of the video that the HTC (I think) was catching, but then re-opened the app as opposed to having it available.

There were a couple of runs. The first one was opening, and the second was reopening. The opening of apps already had the iPhone in the lead, and by the reopening due to iOS's caching it was a walkover. But it does show why these types of videos are a bit pointless. They don't really measure the processing speed meaningfully.

So now we must forfeit the iPhone as a contender because it's OS manages it's RAM better?

Hadn't got around to it yet, just watched it.

Looks like the Nexus 5 did out do the iPhone on most of the individual app launches. Video doesn't show multi-tasking though, but he did say he will be doing more tests...

I've never seen Apple fanboys in Android threads boasting how superior their preferred device is. Android fanboys on the other hand...
IMO if you're using Android on a Samsung device, you have no right to call anyone else sheep.

Rubbish.

They only care about the imagined feeling of superiority in owning an Apple device. Evidence?

1. How often have we heard the counter argument of "you're just jealous because you can't afford an iPhone". Which of course totally ignores the fact that most flagship devices cost the same monthly fee on contract.

2. I've noticed most iPhone covers come with a cut out to expose the Apple logo...

3. The need to constantly tell all and sundry how cutting edge and innovative their device of choice is, even when implementating tech that has been around for ages.

Evidence? Wow.

1.) I note you speak of "we"? That the Royal "we"? Maybe you should stop hanging out with the kinds of people that remind you that you cannot afford things? And while you're at it, why don't you have that chip on your shoulder seen to? :whistling:

2.) That's probably since, unlike Samsung, the logo is on the back - not plastered on the front. :whistling:

3.) Tell all and sundry? So kind of like you're doing, right now?

After hanging around on MyBB for a while now, I've always managed to stay out of these mud-slinging wind-ups... But seeing the generalisations of your 'evidence', just brought home to me how - if people can get this swept up and one-eyed about friggin' phones/tech companies - it's no wonder our history is filled with wars being fought over such other 'petty trivialities', such as religion; fascism; ethnicity etc. etc...

Here it is.

Cool. Thanks. Ja - the Nexus 5 is a year(?) older, and still trumps the iP6 in some of the apps. Impressive.

That being said, this video, and the other (original) one, pretty much confirm things for me -- there really are more important things in the world to be worrying about, than the nanoseconds' difference in opening apps... Real world scenario - unless you're constantly switching between different phones, would anyone really notice anything?

So that being done, I can now relax, and rather spend my nights lying awake worrying about bent iPhone 6-Plus(ses), and losing my facial hair, as per the new "hairgate" saga... Oh the humanity! :D
