Iphone 6 water damage repair or sell for salvage

Any tips on the above two? Which one can I do where and what is the cost vs what IL get for the damaged phone?

It's a gold iphone 6 16 gig

If there's a iFix nearby take it and ask for a quote to repair it.

Open the phone and disconnect battery leads ASAP to prevent corrosion.
It requires special scredriver, otherwise is very simple job.
