Hi all,

Wondering if you have the same issue with iPhone as me.

I have an iPhone which is still within 1 year guarantee but expires very soon.
The home button is not working properly and I jailbroke the phone.
Question: should I restore the phone as before jailbreak and take it back for fixing?

Yes, do a full restore and take it back. If Core's support is anything like Apple's they will swap the phone.

I am worried that they may come back to me say that it has no problem when they test the device; and the quarantee just expired. Then what will happen?

Don't accept that answer - and don't accept the phone return until you are satisfied with the outcome

No. They cannot tell. You should try restore to 5.0.1... Using iFaith, saved blobs and a stitched ipsw... So that when you get your phone back you can jailbreak again...

What's wrong with the home button, do calibrate it regularly?

There is no such thing as home button calibration, it is just a common fault.

I'll always believed the home button issue is software related and it's quite simple to prove. The next time it's unresponsive, double tap it, and if the multi tasking bar opens you know your home button is physically fine.

A small workaround...
Install Zephyr & AnyClose, then u won't need to use home button.

But yes, restore & take phone back, would be what u need to do.

Some covers or clear protection films can be the problem, if not then best find your way to a repair center.

Btw just do a simple restore and all evidence of JB is gone.

Every iPhone I have owned has had a problem with home button. Very well known issue. Although they have failed out of warranty.

Owned all the iPhones / iPads and never had a problem, even after replacing cracked screens.

One would think that considering that apple only had to put one button on the front of the device it would be done properly.

My iPhone button often does not respond, simple solution is find a wooden desk, take the phone in preferred hand, and lightly slam it back end down on table. This works every time, and if in bar, gets glares.

This is clearly a hardware issue, and am pretty sure that if i send it in under warrantee, water will be blamed, this even happens if you live in a dessert and are close to death due to dehydration.

Fortunately I upgraded to Samsung, saves the tables.
