iPhone warranty repairs

Hi all, just wondering how Apple handles warranty repairs?

I remember my iPhone 5S was replaced and not repaired... On an iPhone 6 with a sticky power button, do they repair or replace?

I seem to remember someone saying that repairs aren't done when the device is under warranty?
