I'm REALLY excited of the prospect of having the IPL held here. But I hope to see the same excitement come game time from all cities. Part of the soul of IPL was the crowd in India last year, that loud buzz throughout the game.

They think the multi racial english crowds will attend the games better and the 20/20 wc is held in england in june so will give the indian players great preparation.

But its unlikely due to lots of legal issues concerning tv rights, the ipl would also clash with the county season. Also the weather.

yeah, i heard sky is putting up a big fuss about this, and england were completely against the ipl in the first season, to a point where english broadcasters didnt even mention it in their sports news.

imo a quarter full wanderers would create more of an atmosphere than a full house at lords

All my money will be going into cricket tickets... Watched 2 days at Newlands and its just one of the best sports to go and watch live...

Awesome test to go and watch, lots of sixes ;) Hopefully we get it, hopefully global warming screws up winter in Cape Town, hopefully we get some good weather and no wind ;)

Awesome news. Well done to CSA and lets hope ticket prices aren't exorbitant to recover the costs of moving venues...

Yeah and the other one gets Centurion! :D

I also think that SA should host it as the Welsh cricket board was so against Pro20 :p:D

Centurion will definitely get a team. I prefer Rajastan with warnie and smith but any of the others will also be great. Each side has some fantastic attacking batsmen.
