Reading the post planning new installation got me wondering what is the rules for a hybrid system in COJ. I am not registered and thought it will be NERSA that will give the rules. See in COC you must register by Feb 2019.

Seems like lots of red tape:
- 10 sets of electrical compliance regulations need to be met.
- multiple inspections by various engineers.
- No prepaid allowed.
- New meter required.
- Migrate to Time-of-use (TOU) metering.
I'm on pre-paid
If I switch to TOU, the fixed fees are about 50% of my bill.
My Solar system is being installed, I'll check with the installer if it makes financial sense to grid-tie.
