Iran oil exports may disappear

Guessing the problem is probably mainly technological which could be solved if Chinese/Russian companies move in, seeing as the West has or will have sanctions in place.

Read somewhere a while ago Saudi Arabia was threatening to massively increase its production which would cause the oil price to plummet and effectively destroy the already fragile Iranian economy.

And this from the same people that "Reported" WMDs in Iraq. I dont know how much we should read into this considering the USA is looking pretty much useless in Iraq and probably don't want to be blamed if Iran "destabilize" as well because of THEM [them = Usa & Iraq]

The US military exercises have not stopped Iran's drive. But the report said the country could be destabilised by declining oil exports, hostility to foreign investment to develop new oil resources and poor state planning, Stern said.

..right, shifting focus maybe? THe middle-east is a mess, Iraq is a mess, the USA is continiously nailing Iran over Uranium enrichment...surely that won't help their economy. I wonder what Iraq's oil exports looks like ? Maybe they should look at actually stabilizing Iraq....

As for technology, this might be true, but again Iran can build Nukes [or obviously have enough resources/tech to do so] ..but now they don't have the tech/resources to improve their oil production? For some reason i don't quite grasp that, Iran can get ANY tech they want ...oil = power.

Washington - Iran is suffering a staggering decline in revenue from its oil exports, and if the trend continues income could virtually disappear by 2015, according to an analysis released on day by the National Academy of Sciences.

Peak Oil? If the world is suffering Peak Oil then how can Iranian fuel revenue drop (especially in 2015?!)

India?
The analysis supports US and European suspicions that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons in violation of international understandings.

Anything talking about Iranian Oil Production especially in 2015 is bull****.

Or to make it even simpler: if the oil price is already pushing 60 or 70 dollars then what is it going to be in 2015? (oh maybe you expect the 2nd coming?) What miracle exactly? (How then can Iran's oil revenue drop in a world starved of oil?)

I still cannot understand what you are trying to say. You ask yourself questions out of context and start answering yourself? Quoting policies on other countries that has nothing to do with the subject?

The article is about the drop in Irans oil revenue. How in a world starved of oil can revenue drop (unless they purposely stop exporting or are brought to their knees through sanctions: spare parts, etc.) - (Or of course maybe run out of oil - but that would be true of most.)

Iran earns about $50bn a year in oil exports. The decline is estimated at 10 to 12% annually. In less than five years exports could be halved and then disappear by 2015, Stern predicted.

Nowhere in the article do they tell you why the revenue is dropping. It is a thumbsuck (and therefore likely propaganda.)
