Even if you have a degree here it wont be considered a degree there. You would need to study another year either there (very expensive) or here in SA.

I doubt that a 3 year diploma would be acceptable by itself, but some countries will give credit for experience (eg. US will give 1 year of education credit for every 3 years experience for their skilled worker visas).

I know a girl with a high scoring B.Sc (or use to know ... I don't think she knows me anymore) who only got admitted because her future husband had a M.B.Ch.B.

You need to go through some process to get your qualifications rated, can't remember what it's called. And no you don't need a degree to get into canada or the US.

You do need enough points on the scoring system which will be very difficult without a high end qualification.

Selection Factor Maximum points
English and/or French skills 28
Education 25
Experience 15
Age 12
Arranged employment in Canada 10
Adaptability 10
Total 100

I know of people with a N6 that got into canada no problem, a degree is not required but it will give you higher points.

Mind elaborating in general terms about the surrounding circumstance? Age, line of work, kids etc?
